I have decided to sell my Merkur XR4TI

The American version of our XR4i

Fitted with a 2.3 over head cam turbo charged angine rather than our 2.8 V6 lump

I bought this as its a very rare car , Made famous as Andy Rouse raced them before the cosworth was born

I have been told there is only about 8 in the country that are road worthy

The car is solid and runs well ,

The bodywork is solid but does have marks here and there that have been touched up

Interior is 3 door cosworth and to be honest not the best ,

I would class this as a perfect resto project that once done will be a rare and quite valuable car

Out of interest what do these drive like paul? Compared to say a british 4i or 3 door cossie?. Good luck with the sale. Sure summat as rare will find a new owner sharpish

 

These actually drive better as the rear of these shells is aprox 15mm wider than any other sirra shell , this is why ( so i was told ) some of the touring car teams used Merkur shells and did the rear window conversions and used them as rs500 shells

Wolf rs500 race cars were well known for doing this

Im not to bothered if im honest if it sells or not as its little money for such a rare car , I bought it to restore it back to concourse std along with an XR8 i was going to buy m but reality says i just wont have the time
