Default Cosworth base idle.

My car has been live mapped, I take it adjusting the base idle slightly won't mess anything up?

my autodata says it should be 900 rpm to 950rpm im no expert so other input from other users would be helpfull

as above it wont alter the map but it does beg the question of why you need to adjust it?

Cheers guys

It needs adjusted as I've changed the little bypass pipe on my RS 500 throttlebody. I was using -8 hose that due to the angle the pipe runs was kinked over. Now I've fitted a genuine pipe that has the proper shape, the idle has gone up a little bit. It's enough to annoy me though lol.

Hi Paul,
Get her fully hot, fans been in and gone back off, all electrical load off and then tweak the base bypass screw to achieve 900 - 950rpm.

At that point, recheck the emissions are correct and if not, tweak them. This may necessitate and other change to the base idle speed, and if so, you will then need to recheck emissions. Repeat until both are as required and your done.

Cheers Stu! It's only risen to around 1050rpm, but it's enough to be annoying lol.
