Default L8 ecu chips

Just wondering if someone could answer a question I've had about my L8 ecu I have for sale please?

Are all L8 chips interchangeable? As in, will a chip from a red L8 fit and work ok in a green L8?

Thanks in advance, Karl

Yep, Just as above. Apparently, the only differences are in the software, so as soon as you remove the chip, there is no difference.

Pectel encrypted there software, hence you need a pectel board to run it.

As said the only difference between the two is the software, obviously in the red top case it was not calibrated for CL.

what he says,
a chip written for a pectel board wont work in a weber board and vice versa
so if you've already got a chip then you need to get he board to suit that,
or if your ordering a chip you need to know what type of board you have
however the boards are interchangeable and can be quickly swapped over on the same l8 ecu

It shouldn't make any difference in this case...

If someone buys it who has a Pectel chip, they would have a 'Pectel board' as well, so they can simply transplant them into the new ECU, if they don't then they can just fit the chip.

The chips can be swapped amongst ECU's of the same type, issues such as you describe sound like you are trying to run a Pectel chip without the board to decrypt it, thats merely all the pectel board is, a hardware key.
