good evening everyone

in a bit of bother with my 2005 st 2.2tdci mondeo. Had the dreaded timing chain tensioner failure and a smashed cam box as result.

Problem is i need a cam box that matches as these are line bored

these are supposedly paired with a number on cam box and head, 3 digits, that means u need a matching cam box to complete the job.

So the question is, is all this true or are there any other ways around this to fix .

And if so, has anyone got or know of a 2.2 broke somewere with a 533 numbered cam box?

any help would be much apreciated

 

I thought these were matched when made and if they go then its a new head.someone might be sure

 

yeah i heard that, but have been told if u get a matching cam box, with this 3 digit number matching, it should be good
