Just had an oil breather fitted to my series1, now the temp gauge has got a mind of its own, temp goes off the scale then back down again.
What is the reason for this ???

could be a wire has been disturbed during fitment or the sender may have failed.

The wire has a push on connector with a rubber cover over it just pull it off and follow the wire to see if theres any brakes along the line ,also check the connector itself just incase its gunked up with crap if that doesnt work try fitting a new sensor.
