Seems optimistic, but fair play if it's correct, mental work for an engine that was built to be a throwaway job!

2.0 race engines based on the zetec SE have been around for donkeys years.

I doubt it will be 290bhp with a road set up throttlebodies and manifolds. Normally around 260bhp.

 

It seems a little too high to be true, I've heard of 260 (and 10000rpm rev limit) being available from mountune for £16k, but 290 seems a bit on the far fetched side? Does it say what fuel is used?

It does say manifold not included, so maybe 290 is achievable with some crazy long bodies.

I dread to think what that engine cost new! Swindon certainly know how to charge.

Certainly no reason to doubt that it could of made 290hp, its built using some of the best parts money can buy
