Hello,
As some of you will know I've been rebuilding my Sapphire 4wd Cosworth, it's now about 80% complete.
I have just started to tidy up the wiring on the loom and would really like to get new one. There nothing wrong with the one that's fitted now and appears to be in good condition, however, it is as old as the car and as I've replaced everything for new I might as well do this.
I've been having a good look around on different pages on here and around the net and making the loom itself seems a straight forward job.
I bought the fuel pump, coil requiring loom already but I'd like to hard wire it in.
Can people put any hints or tips on here that could help me or anyone else along the way?
I've got the diagrams off biggturbo etc to start with.
Ideally I would like original coil wiring to use until I go wasted spark so I'm going to hard wire the twin amp loom in and fuel pump relays.
What do I do with the 2 diagnostic plugs nearest the 35 pin ecu? Do I repin them or loose them?
It also looks like I can loose a good length of cabling by cutting out the 3x8 way plugs off the bulkhead and hard wiring them in.
Thanks
It'll be a slow thread but ill update my progress as and when

I would like to know what to do with the fuel pump relay as looking at aftermarket looms they are not part of the loom.
I have a fuel pump rewiring loom I bought a while back and was planning on using that.

Make your sensor wires into twisted pairs as far as possible (or twisted triples) as it eliminates a lot of the interferance.
Tony at turbosystems knows alot about how they developed the motorsport looms to deal with interference and they went the twisted pair route he said IIRC.

I've picked up on one of your post off a while back when you made the Yellow braided loom. Helped me a lot so far, thanks
I've noticed you've still got the Fuel relay still part of the main loom. I was going to try and rewire it direct but looks a right ball ache and not really achieving much so I don't think I'll bother.
I'm still waiting on a few bits in the post them I can get cracking

I used these for most of the stuff, P&P a bit expensive though

Another little tester......
I don't want to be using an old suppressor off the loom as I'm making new....
I understand it's a simple capacitor, BUT what value is it?
1uF 250v or 500v?
