Default my 1994 escort cosworth ash black

hiya peeps thought its about time i started a thread on my old escort

ive had the car for around 5 years now and its only ever just sat in the background really as most of you know from my other projects on here im more into my sierra's

my mate bought the car from a guy in leeds back in 2002 on 42,000 miles pretty much a standard car but then that didnt last for long lol
most of the performance gear for the car was bought brand new from woodford garage
my receipts in the folder adds up to over 3k on the bits from there alone
like a t35 plus filter and feed
bajoo p8 pectal
garrett 31
803's and 3 bar
full stainless exhaust
pair of bd 10's
walbro fuel pump
500 style pace cooler
grp a headset
grp a induction
pace ally header
pace oil breather and fitting kit
pace swirl pot and fitting kit
samco coolant set
samco header tank set
ect ect

the car went pretty well like this but it needed something more to get the most of the mods like a good tune up,,
he booked the car into a well know tuners back in the day
and it was prob the worst mistake he ever made whilst he owned the car

they pulled the car to bits inc head off ect ive a page of jobs done and its riddiculess what they changed ,,well he handed over 3300 for labour and all works done inc a supposed tune up only for the car to go bang on the way home,it got recovered back to the the tuners to be told it would cost another £3000+ to fix so he had to then recover the car home still with the blown up engine

wounded

on further inspection the car had someone elses inlet manifold on it now,
and the group a gasket set they charged for was actually a cheapo one they fitted
they removed the brand new walbro pump too for some unkown reason and charged
a hefty £150 for a group a item fitted, cheeky fuckers had his pants right down as he was just a young lad

slowly he was getting quite ill with the car as he was into serious big money now and his dream car was still fooked on the drive

well he bit the bullet and bought a brand new 200 block cylinder assembly from ormskirk ford for £3026 all in £450 of that was surcharge lol

the car was re built by a lad we know at ERS in burscough and its engine has ran like a dream ever since thank fook

at last he got to enjoy the car again so next came the 18" gold comps brand new with michiline pilots and again with the brakes brand new 305's and ally 4 pots
unfortunatly these got cooked and replaced with more ally 4 pots and 330mm rotas it also had a brand new drivers door, brand new new front bumper, new hocky sticks, morretts fitted, new alarm,a new drive shaft, uprated engine and gearbox mounts, bonnet painted, new fuse box,2 carbon splitters the list of receipts is fucking endless

next the gearbox went to g.e.a.r.s in southport for a re build
using a fully ovehauled main gearbox assembly
and also suppling and fitting to the transfer unit
a uprated centre viscose unit 60nm resistance instead from the std 20nm
a new transfer drive chain and front and rear output bearings

a new flywheel and ap paddle clutch was fitted too

i guess after a while he just lost interest as it cost him so much money to maintain and mod, at the time he also had a e46 m3 cabby and never even lifted the bonnet except to fill the window wash tank and he liked that,, the poor ford just got parked up for just under 2 years,, then all the standard bits he'd removed got stolen from a so called mates unit and thats when he decided to sell it ,,,enough was enough

i wasnt looking to buy the car but i didnt want anyone else to have it neither lol
so a deal was done between us and i just used it now and again whilst my sierra was on and off the road plus it was tough doing stuff to this cossie when most of my money was already gone every week paying for it

well finally this year the car is all paid for now and its growing fast on me lol, i can also feel myself starting to enjoy it a bit more
this month ive just changed the stock turbo to air filter rubber pipe for a great big stainless steel hard pipe and bought a brand new standard exhaust cam from burton power to get fitted as the car is proper fast but theres nothing till 4000rpm and i want more pull at lower revs

some pictures to follow peeps
