Barn Find - MK1 Escort Estate
Bought this the other week from eBay.
1973 Ford Escort 1300 Estate
Last on the road 1982ish
One owner from new and genuine 36k
When I picked it up
Car has NO...0 penetrating rust. There are a few surface scabs here and there but nothing to cry about and a full re spray wont cure. The whole car has been rust protected from the factory and the car is in perfect condition.
Plans for the car are to keep it genuine and original and maybe aim for concourse

Few pictures of it in the workshop
The weekend I got it I gave it all new fluids and a set of points and it started 1st time and runs sweet. Front brakes were ceased on but after some new seals and clean up of the pistons they are as good as new

Booked a week off work so going to strip off all the old underseal and give it a new coat then paint the whole underneath the same colour as the body.
Might order some 13" 5j steel wheels as well

I wasn't happy with the brakes so purchased all new seals and pistons for them

I have delayed the MOT as both engine mounts have collapsed and the engine is a bit lumpy. So ordered new mounts and a set of points.
Bought some new black plates
on axel stands for a good jet wash
Front after a wash
Started to strip off all the old underseal
masked up ready for primer and then underseal
1st coat of underseal

So my week off is over 
Wheels STILL haven't arrived which is very annoying.
Striped all the old stuff off the boot floor and undersealed it (didn't get pic after)
Managed to get a carb kit at last, so rebuilt to fix the leeking gaskets.
Cleaned and back together
Probs the biggest update is the car is now MOT'd
, no advisories. Just need the log book to turn up so I can tax it.

Quite a bit has happened since, I just haven't updated it. The car is taxed and gets driven every weekend as long as its sunny. I am shocked at how reliable it is. Took it for a 50 mile drive the other weekend, got stuck in traffic for 30 mins in 30c heat and the car did not over heat or cut out. It just chugged along happily. I'm over the moon with it.
The suspension needed replacing due to age, I have a set of bilstin shocks on the rear and just purchased some front coilovers
Saw this sticker on ebay and just needed to have it
Got some rs steel wheels which I have just finished painting
but also won these on ebay for Ł40 so not sure what I will do with these yet
