Default PSP and CUSTOMS DUTY

Hi all

Just bought a Brand New Sony PSP

Only prob is it's coming from HK, so whats the best way to avoid customs picking it up and charging me £75 on it ??

I know that marking it as GIFT doesn't work aswell as it did, is there anything else I could have it marked as ??

Im sure I read somewhere before if it's marked as SAMPLE this will help, anyone know if it's true ???

Any help appriciated and needed asap plz

Gift dont work.

Warrenty Return can sometimes work, but sometimes they want to see some kind of proof is they being arkward.

Sample is a good option.

Best bet TBH is having the value at fuck all, i paid about 7 quid on my turbo, lol...

Done, marked as sample and it's just listed as a game.

Hopefully that will do it

I soooooo want a PSP... But European release is in june

Why bother waiting till june ???

The prices are only going to be about £30 less than you can get 1 for now and Japan and Europe are both the same region so films will not be a prob and the games are all regions.

European version will have a display from Samsung (better quality).. + a lot of jap PSP's have bugs like buttons stop working, or dead pixels..
European version will be improved more

In the mean time, I'm killing time on GT4

I got a nice site for ya, has a lot of info (inc. forum) and movies for ya PSP :

99.9% of parcels go thru a customs area within the parcel hub when entering the uk, it'll prob get x-rayed and opened if thought to be suspect.

Good luck if ya get away with it.

Seems u need 2 do a little more research

The Jap PSP's have a Sharp screen and have excellent resolution, the US and EUROPEAN versions will be made in china and use SAMSUNG screens, these SAMSUNG screens are made cheaper than the Sharp screens and are not as Bright and Sharp as the Original Sharp screens

As for the buttons etc those problems have all been fixed it was only a few very early ones that had the problems and sony has replaced these units already.
The dead pixel problems have only been reported using the later samsung screens, as far as I can see.

Hense better off gettin a Jap version now

If you put a low value and it disappears, does the Post Office then pay the full value?

I write the value of things down going into the UK but thats obviously only if you are not going to insure it for full value. I took my bro's iPod mini to the post office and sent it as a gift containing a CD and power adapter (well it did, just a couple of other more expensive bits with it!)

iPod Minis here are down to about 110quid now
