Im constantly playing battlefield 1942 online but the srver i play on has a ping limit of 175 or you get kicked

My ping averages at about 140 so im usually ok but not always.

is there any programmes or anything else i can do to lower my ping?

 

if your on broadband and you have a pint that high something is wrong.

or your downloading at the same time or

the server is not in the uk

if it is the latter theres nout you can do about it

 

If you are on broadband and the server is in the UK/Europe your ping should be between 25 and 65ms! Something is wrong somewhere, turn off all downloading rubbish and make sure no-one else in the house is downloading/uploading as well.

 

nope, theres only me online and i think the server is in the US and i have everything turned off or disabled.

 

Use a UK server then, it is the best option! I've not played that game but you can usually sort the server list by Ping/Latency and find the quickest ones

175ms is worse than some 56k modems

 

i know! but the server i use is for modified maps you have turbo jeeps and use mountains as ramps to fly accross the maps in the jeep

 

i averaged 150 with 56k us robotics 56k modem, you have a shite link there

 

pings vary, get high in the early evening as lots of people online clog it up , whats your name on BF1942 mate???

you wont get a better ping

 

i play on american,German and hungarian servers my ping is usually about 25-35

 

use the all seeing eye .. to find some good old UK servers m8 i use it to find Quake3 servers ... if you need a link for it let me know.

what broadband provider you using, AOL?

i used to be able to get 90ms pings on a 56k modem when correctly utilised (quakeworld mind, wont get nuffing below 120 on anything modern) so yours SUCKS

on CS:S i normally get between 20 and 40ms... and that's un-tweked, all defaults
