I *think* my father in law had this done - keyhole surgery, but he was quite tender afterwards, and no lifting, stretching etc.. for a good while.

as bill said, but if you dont have key hole then its a very big op

why must you have it out , know lots of people who live with stones?

My Mum had hers out last year. Wasnt a big deal. If you dont have it removed then it can cause other issues. I wouldnt worry too much about it. its a common op.

Not really sure I only have a few stones, but I suffer badly from chest pain and indigestion. They've done and ECG and I've been told my heart is ok so they think the stones are causing all the probs Not to keen on the op though to be honest as I need to work

my dad had it done but a few weeks later he lifted an art desk ( very heavy ) now he suffers REALLY badly with a hyatas hurnia ( spelling ) so if you do get it done dont do any lifting till they say so.

hietas hernis is when your stomach goes up your osesagus mate, ie holding it open which is what causes heart burn.

think your dad may have got another type of hernia, maybe umbilical (around the belly button) as this is where they take the gall bladder out once it is detached from under the liver so may have weakened the muscle so bowel popped through
