Default How easy is it to change alternator on my 2003 ford transit

Could somebody help. I need to change the alternator on my transit 90, 2003 model. is it aa job that can be done on my drive and how long will it take? really need the van back on the road asap for my job.

if its a 90 i take it its a rear wheel drive?
if so then its easy, as you look at the engine it sits on the left hand side,
you can do the whole job from above, no need to go underneath
just make a note of the route of the fan belt before you take it off
as its huge and is hard to remember
should take no more than an hour
but check the wiring as they are bad for braking wires causing bad connections etc

As above but depending how flexible your arms are you may find it easier to do the 2 bolts underneath, yeh hour max if its your first time

Cheers guys. So I shouldn't encounter any problems, like tightening the belt, etc. sorry to sound dumb but never changed one before!

It's self tensioning unless damaged
