Hi, when I do normal braking in my 2001 1.7 puma I get a grating noise from the brakes as if the abs or traction control kicks in (same noise when you try to pull away in snow) but there are no warning lights showing, the abs/tc lights come on then go off when engine is started which is normal and the self test at 12 mph seems to be normal and ok so this has got me stumped, recently had new discs and pads fitted about a fortnight ago also this only happens when the car is coming to a complete stop as if the wheels have stopped but the engine is still trying to drive, any idea's please help.

 

ABS sensor or a knackered tone ring.

 

Hi, thanks I'm going to try a couple of new front sensors at the weekend to see if that cure's it.

 

Are you sure its from the front end?
