Back in January I flew to Glasgow to buy this little beauty from Carlo on here then drove it back to Essex and it did not miss a beat all the way back the drive home was great.
The car came with a ton of history every old Mot and tax discs and was better than I expected a old owner contacted me told me he owned it for 18 years and had treasured the car only using it for shows and he had already done a restore on its underside some years back explaining why it was already to a good standard.
But I decided that I was going to get the engine bay and underside so I took the car to yorkie in Sheffield and this is what's been done to date.

I had yorkie take the cosworth rear disc conversion of to have a standard drum set up

 

Loads of work done recently I will let the picture do the talking soon to be back on the road but will be tucked away for the winter while the interior will be totally redone if any body knows of a good company in the Essex area to redo my seats please let me know

Not to sure on the secondary locks on the doors, but then in the day late 80's 90's probably essential in keeping hold of it.

long term project

 

Really liking this project, I love well done modified cars but there is something about back to original restos that really squeezes my pips

 

James I saw you had picked one up on RSowners what's your plans standard or modded very rare car now even at the shows you can usually count on 1 hand how many you see if at all I was like you had loads of RSs but never a 16i love it now a proper head turn when driving it about.

 

micky i think it will have to go back to standard includng a roof reskin to get rid of the aftermarket sunroof

i am hoping to pick up afull car so i can rob all the bits other wise i will be wasting my time i fear .

i was never really a sunburst fan but it is growing on me everyday,as i wanted a white one originally .
