Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get 32 half collets and 16 circlips that hold them together for a YB with standard valves? Everyone seems to be waiting on these coming into stock. I've tried all the usual supsects and need these asap to get my head finished.

Circlips?! None of mine have ever had circlips on as the collets lock in when you release the spring compressor?!

 

Ggr said they needed circlips? And then said they don't have in stock 7 days later!

No circlips on mine either. I have quite a few laying about but not a full set

Burton have them, it says their needed too and they locate on the collet after in the groove but as you can see from mine they don't have a groove!!





Ps these are for my spare head so not for sale lol

 

Whoever you spoke to at GGR must be on crack, the circlip is to hold the valve guide in place but you would only replace this if removing your valve guides (not a DIY job!) but it has nothing to do with installing the valve spring retainers.

100% you just use 2 collets per valve to hold the retainer in place.

You could try calling Cosworth (01604 598300) direct and ask for YB spares but everyone else is probably waiting for Cosworth to make them!

 

ive got a box of these,would have to count and see if full set though
