Default car judder.

If i pull away i get this judder.I get it if i change gear aswell, but its when i lift the pedal half way up. Its just bad when im pulling away though. Its ok as soon as im on the move. Plus, if i have my foot on the brake and lift the clutch, it feels like a vicious bite. Like a clunk. Only does it now and again?? Gearbox mounts are solid, theres enough oil in the box, no oil on the clutch feeling, running out of idea's?

Nope, standard clutch. Balljoint?? how will that make the judder. Its definitly something to do wiv the gear box. When i lift the clutch half way, i can feel it through the pedal. Feels like something is balanced right?? Hard to xplain.

I had a very similair problem like this with my old rover turbo, turned out the flywheel was on its last legs, I think it had been skimmed too much and there were also hot spots. Worth a look I suppose !

It could be that. It kinda fits the puzzle. It use to run fine. How the hell do you buckle a fly wheel?

Mine did exactly the same as wot your sayin like a judder though the pedals. Can you feel it though the steering wheel as well? If so i would bet it the tolerance bush in the steering coloum is fooked. You can get these from ford it a small bearing and a plastic bush (about Ł4) and it fits behind the steering wheel. I changed all the bushs, steering rack,T.C.As,track rod ends and all the engine and gearbox mounts and it turned out to be this

Had a new steering rack, but the steering wheel moves up and down by alot. Why would that make the car judder??

I still reckon its a combination of worn clutch and a fucked flywheel

Dont people say if you have oil on the clutch or flywheel that could also cause judder. Just an idea

That sounds exactly the same as mine did lots of movement in the steering wheel and a judder. For the sake of a fiver change the parts i said you might be surprised.

Ford part numbers
6147076 tolerance ring 21pence
6147075 bearing Ł2.75
plus v.a.t
Takes ten minutes to fit just take off steering wheel and stalks and the whole coloum pulls off you will see the bearing in the coloum and the bush sits in between the coloum and the steering wheel.

I'll give it a go steve but i really do doubt its that. Fucked clutch sounds like more the problem as i think im putting to much bhp on the standard clutch. Annoying, coz it isnt that old, but my own fault. I was warned. Its not oil, it isnt that kinda judder.
