Here we have a lovely example of a mk4 escort. A lot of time has been spent getting it to how it is now. I simply do not use the car enough to enjoy it so it is up for sale.

In the last 8 months it has had;

- adjustable shocks
- New -60mm springs
- New lower arms & bushes
- New rear adjustable tie bars
- New clutch
- New discs and pads
- New wheel cylinder (OSR)
- New suspsension bushes (poly bushes)
- 4 piece wind deflectors
- Back of back seats carpeted & carpeted boot board
- All new standard sized speakers
- Genuine 80s kick up decals
- Rear 3 windows also now tinted
- Rebuilt 80 spec recaros with new bolsters
- Xr3i stainless exhaust system with standard tip welded on for a standard look
- Ford Puma gear linkage

It originally had a 1.8 zetec engine but i did not know the history of the engine so i replaced it with a 2.0 zetec engine from a mondeo with just under 70k. This allowed me to replace everything on the new engine. It has been freshly painted and has had;

- New water pump

- New cambelt tensioner

- New cam sensor

- New Crank position sensor

- New clutch

- New oil filter & oil

- New rocker cover gasket

It has Fiesta RS1800 management, loom, ecu etc. The loom has been stripped, all wires and connectors that are not required for this conversion have been removed completely so there are no unsightly wires all over the engine bay. I have fitted a mk6 escort Air filter box and air filter, i did not want a big cone filter in view.

The gear linkage was a bit sloppy like most of these cars so i have upgraded the gear linkage to one from a ford puma. Selecting gears is now very crisp with no playin the linkage and it makes such a difference when driving the car.

The tax runs out at the end of Apr this year. It has MOT until the 27 Sept, if the asking price is met i will put a full 12 months MOT on the car for the full asking price.

There is no rust on the inner wings, front panel, inner & outer sills, floor pan, batt tray etc.

Please remember that its 28 years old and does have the odd mark, nothing to worry about. I am a very fussy person and i am being very honest.

- There is a small dent approx 1" in the tailgate

- The fuel gauge is not always accurate when it gets near the red, common for these cars, i just never let it get that low on fuel.

-The lower corners below the rear doors have a small amount of paint flaking, again nothing serious and certainly no rust.

For a 28 year old car this escort is in superb condition, it is very quick and will certainly put a smile on your face.

It also has some cupholders built into the centre console, they are from a mk4 golf. The cage has been modified to fit the console, and the cup holder itself simply slides in and clicks into place;

A few details of how the car sits now;

Full interior change, it now has a tan/brown interior (complete) from a mk2 orion inc rear bench. I had to have a custon bracket fabricated to hold the rear bench, this simply bolts into place where the brackets for the rear seats used to clip into. rear bench has an arm rest, head rests and the cushions over the rear wheel arches that the escorts never had.

The boot trims have been painted to match.Lot of tan/brown for a bit more of a period look and to be different.

I have also fitted elec windows, mirrors and central locking.

The plastic bumpers have been repainted.

I have had some 15" 'soft spoke' alloys refurbished in a chrysler light metalic brown/gold to suit.

I have done quite a bit since advertising the car, to be honest i forgot about this post and had given up selling the car due to so many spotty teenagers offering a px with those 'mint modded corsas'
