Are 2wd sierra sapphire cosworth rear diffs all slippers?

Are the standard sierra open rear diffs interchangeable with no mods?

Simple test just to spin 1 wheels and see what way other wheel turns?

 

All cosworth 2wd diffs are LSD and unique being 7.5 inches wide. Couldnt say they can interchange i doubt it.

 

My escort has a sierra rear beam for the 7.5 diff

 

Assuming you have Escos, no as your current diff is 7".

You can do it, you just have to cut a bit of the diff off though, from what I learnt from Dojj in another thread the other day, supposedly cutting the top of the diff works as well?

Also the drive shafts are different, 2WD are bolt on, where as yours will be 'splined'.

Lesser models had the 7" open diff, although some do have LSD's, also there are a few DOHC models which had the 7.5".

Yes the easiest test is as you say.
