Default 520d remap & dpf removal new mpg figures

Last night I gutted the dpf and cat. on my E61 520d and today took it to http://sitechracing.co.uk/ for a dpf delete remap. It now goes much better and hopefully will give even better mpg.

Was it yours that was on their facebook page!

I have an St tdci with decat, cobra exhaust, bigger intercooler.
When I drove to MAS in Skipton to have her remapped, I was getting 38mpg, on the way home 52 mpg.

Yes that was mine on the facebook page. That an amazing increase in mpg yours must be around 200bhp now? I currently average 50 and hope to get to around 55.
After driving it today it revs much cleaner and feels quite nippy (considering its a heavy 2.0 diesel estate car)

Took my E90 BM 330d MSport to http://www.topgear.co.uk/top-gear-bridport-longlife for DPF delete and would recommend them.

Default 520d remap & dpf removal. new mpg figures

Well after 500 miles my mpg according to the computer has went from 50.4 to.......50.4 I can't believe it! Someone on another forum that I use says that after a remap the onboard fuel comp. is no longer accurate? any one else had this?
The car goes well though.

Fuel computer should work fine unless the calibrator frigs the AFM's output to get the extra power but only clueless clowns do that. That said, a common sign of that being done is the same or worse economy along with a bit of smoke here and there.

Did you reset he mpg computer? As once mine finds its mpg average after awhile it takes a lot of driving to get it to change,

As in if it's 22mpg and I do 50miles @ 30mpg, the computer might only just change to 22.3mpg, but will stay at that for along time after.

Wouldn't have thought Sitech are clueless in regards to mapping. The trip comp in my focus I take with a pinch of salt and I'd say is about 5-8% out at the best of times. I drove 4 miles on 0 mile range today till the petrol station and I've had the gauge past being flush with the red empty mark so don't be too disheartened that you haven't seen numbers increase.

The bmw ones aren't too bad, my 320d gained around 5-6 mpg on a run after the mapping was done

I can't believe you did that! to the cat they are worth a fortune! Take the insides out but carefully, then SELL it for scrap to be recycled - platinum, palladium and rhodium are all expensive and this puts its worth well into 3 figures normally!

Plus the world is running out of these materials anyway so all the other cats then cost even more!

I'm no stranger to metal recycling; never weighed in a diesel cat before so don't know if they're worth the same as petrol ones but everything was kept safe.

The car has had a couple of longer runs since Friday and my average is now at 53.8 which is more like it. I don't fancy my RS turbo's chances in keeping up with it in mid range acceleration!
