Default quick urgent question about type 9 gearbox

Iv already posted this in the technical section but thought it would be relavant here too.
I have a mk1 escort with a pinto and Iv fitted a type 9 gearbox. When fitting the reverse switch (after i fitted the box) it snapped in the casing (feel free to laugh, I know Im an idiot). Anyway I really dont want to remove the gearbox as Iv got a load of other jobs to do before the summer and Im desperate to drive the car this year. The gearbox is only temporary and Im not bothered about not having reverse lights for the time being. MY QUESTION IS THIS, will the gearbox leak oil from the reverse light switch hole???????? I am probably going to try to bond the reverse switch in place with some STRONG adhesive (any ideas what stuff I should use????). Iv looked at reverse thread thingys to try to drive the remainder of the switch out but I dont think iv got enough room to do it in situ because of the limited space in the gearbox tunnel. At the end of the day if Im going to need to drop the engine to do that I might as well just change the box but to be honest Id rather wait till Im ready to fit a straight cut gearbox. ANY HELP REALLY REALLY APPRECIATED.

Thanx so much for the reply mate. at least I know now that if I fail to bond the switch on I can still drive the car.
