Default mk1 fiesta engine conversion to 1300 escort

i have recently bought a 1300 valencia kent engine that dropped straight into a mk1 957 cc fiesta. the 1300 came from a mk4 escort with a 5 speed box, my problem is that the garage is saying that the gearbox is knackered and that i also need a new selector. what i need to no is what gearbox and selector will go with the engine. does a gearbox from a cvh fit a ohv? or a fiesta 5 speed fit with a escort mk4? any help is appreciated as the garage want to recon the gearbox which is gunna b £350 on top of a bill for the engine swap!

Pretty sure you can use the linkage of a 5 speed mk4/5 fiesta. You'll need the drill the floor as it mounts differently.
