RWD Escort RS Cosworth Journal....again ANOTHER MAG FEATURE :)
This is my second RS Cosworth. I you all knew the first one so not going on about that. I will let the photos do the talking

Well yesterday I got the car warm, unplugged the ISCV with the engine running and nothing much happened. You could hear a slight difference in noise. Left it unplugged and took her for a spin. Certainly cured the revs hanging around 2000 rpm but still ticking over at 1200 rpm.
So got her home parked up and forgot about the ISCV until the morning when I started for work. Nearly stalled on me. A few revs and within half a mile it ticked over fine around 975 rpm. Drove to work spot on and no hanging the revs either.
Left it off and drove her home 8 hours later and its sitting around 1100 rpm now. So the valve is being removed and soaked in petrol with the piston open for a bit to hopefully clean that out. I will also adjust the revs down a little so it sits just under 1000 rpm on tick over when warm. Has anyone got a photo of the screw that gets turned? Am I right in saying it is on the ISCV? Photo would be great if someone could please.
Next on my list is the handbrake as its really annoying me. This needs tightening. I have read you have to get under the diff and look on either side to find the adjuster. Can anyone tell me if this needs adjusting with the handbrake on? Do I leave it three clicks up or something and tighten? Is this a trial and error? I heard someone say you have to pump the pedel 20 times etc and check both sides are firmly on the discs before adjusting?
Also where is the best place for a gear gaiter? Remember mine has the Sierra T5 box in so not sure which gaiter to get, Escort or Sierra? Can anyone point me in the right direction for a good quality standard looking item?
No photos yet, the car was attacked by the sahara sand storm thing we had the say after I cleaned her !!! Not happy lol.
Just made a purchase
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/FORD-ESCOR...item35bdaf5d5c
Photos when it arrives fitted and will let you all know if they are any good.
Anyone know of any good car mats I can get for her? I just want standard looking items in carpet and black or the same colour the carpets are in the cars?
Not sure about these?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Car-Mats-i...item2c587fda6e
are they the right shape?
OK so as you can see through the Rondels, the brakes are tiny
So been looking around which leads me to a question...
Why can we not fit 2wd calipers to a 4x4? What is in the way or causing issues for this? I see the price is a sizable difference though
Not that I will ever get the full benifit from the bigger brakes as its not driven hard, these would be more for show than anything else but dont want to spend massive money on them.... Anyone know of a cheaper alternative?
Parked the old girl next to two Focus ST's at work yesterday and the Escort made them look bland :-P
Well we have been hit by the floods today so the old girl is staying put.

Number plate change has gone through so she will be back on her M plate she came with.
Just had a phone call from my best mate saying he cannot get to his house due to the floods
sleep over at mine lol
Cleaned the car today and took a closer look into her.
I have d/c'ed my ISCV and after about 30 seconds of feeding light throttle the car sits as per the video. Much better and I can deal with 30 seconds of slight throttle before I set off

My next issue is with the oil gauge, see the video below for what it does. The car runs perfect, has a very small oil leak which we think could be a sump gasket but not 100%. Oil gauge just seems to be feeding from something else. When the car is warm and being used with a bit more boost, the oil gauge seems to follow the boost gauge. Very strange and I think this is related to a earth or something like this, it should of gone bang by now if the gauge was reading right

I also tried to clean the exhaust a bit. Looked like it had not been cleaned in a couple years

Didnt come up like I expected so will see if I can get some metal cleaner and hit it hard. But looks a bit better

I had my little helper today

And as always, just after its been cleaned, it rains!!

Been very busy the last week or two, I helped a friend move house and parked the Cossie up at his.
Came back a hour later and a guy and his kid are stood next to the car, this guy has clocked I am looking at him with the "what the hell are you doing by my car look" and asks, is this your car. Turns out the guy owned a RS2000 mk5 and really wanted a Cosworth but was out of his price range. Didnt really have a chance to chat, more of a shout across the road. His kid loved the car though and he must of been 5!
Anyway, went to the local Sherborne Castle classics and supercar meet which was good, some great cars on stands etc. Didnt take the cossie, took the train instead. Got the car home and cleaned her down, and took it to the Passionford local meet in Taunton. Great turn out, had to be 20 plus cars. Loads of Cosworths and sleepers. I didnt get any photos as I had a late night and a early start so showed the car, had a look around and went home to bed.
I had a bit of smoke come out of the back of the car yesterday as well. Only very small and once. Not come back so think it might of been the hill it was parked on causing some oil to build up and gather. Will take the filter off and check the turbo shafts etc but pretty confident its nothing serious. Car still goes like a rocket. My gear gaiter arrived as well so will fit that when I get 5 minutes.
Update:
Well when I purchased the car, it had the C2 WTH number plate which was staying with the previous owner. When I collected the car he still had to transfer the plate so had to keep the V5, MOT and Tax disk. Now I was a little worried about this but put my trust is a fellow RS owner. After what seemed like a very long time and what seemed to me as being fobbed off the V5 etc dropped through the letter box!! Thank god for that! Thank you Jamie if you are watching one of these, I never doughted you

Anyway, this ment I now have a valid tax disk in the window, my 12 months MOT certificate and the V5. This also ment I could now get my number plate made up for the front of the car. I was running around with it strapped to the passanger side sun visor as it was too small to screw into the bumper and I didnt really want to put some stick back stuff on to keep it there.
So off I went and bought my new front number plate
I got it from Halfords for Ł18 with some locking screws and caps.
So this is how I collected it

Before it was fitted

After it was fitted

My locking screws I used, not fool proof but certainly slow you down, alot!

This was the old number plate against the new one

After that I thought I would tackle the gear gaitor as I read it was a easy job.... what a pain in the ass this was! Thought it would be like my M3 and pull out without removing the center consol but no :headbang:
This is the gear gaitor before

Pretty shafted
So I got to this stage and thought, that is it, take a photo before I put it back in, then I noticed it needed that horrible plastic crap bit put back in to get it to look OEM.

So after messing around it looked like this

Not the best I must admit but not bad for my first attempt, its also a ball ache as its a T5 box so the swing into 2nd/4th and reverse is a long way down.
And this is what it was like when finished

This is what is left from the old gaitor

Sadly, when taking it all a part I found this which was repaired with glue and broke
Anyone got one I can buy please in as new condition or excellent used condition?

A couple photos of my carbon fibre front splitter which was hit at 0.5 mph on a rubbish speed bump! I was pissed right off with this as you can imagine. I have a friend who runs a company in making carbon fibre car parts and he thinks he can fix it, failing that its a new one at Ł150.

When I was at Halfords I had a spare ten minutes so started looking around, I am a very proud dad as I am sure you guys are too and was looking for a new car seat for my ten month old little girl. I never knew Halfords stocked Recaro baby seats
So I took a couple photos to show the Mrs.
She is saying one is no good for us as its for bigger kids so it might be the Young Sport one we go for. It will spend 99% of its time in the back of our 330i Sport which we bought just for the baby (very safe car and has isofix) but for the odd time it has to go in my car, it has to be Recaro

The top one had speakers in and a iPod connection! Kids these days have so much.
OK I want to change my steering wheel I think, its a little too bling for my car for my tastes. I was thinking about taking it apart and spraying the siler/chrome parts satin black but think I would prefer either a fully black momo wheel or a ST wheel with the airbag.
This is my old wheel, pretty good nick except for the bit of chrome stuff that has gone funny as per the pics. Any takers?

This is a link to a new one for sale
http://compare.ebay.co.uk/like/22105...bar&adtype=pla
I have been ill for the best part of the week and the car has just been sat and forgotten about. Today I feel loads better so took her out for a blast with a mate.
OMG! What a car. I gave it some beans out to my mates who lives in the sticks. Driving through small parts of heavy trees etc up hilly lanes giving it some
Jesus! It goes like fook!
My mate is a feel RS fan and has insurance to cover the car and I trust him with my life, so I let him have ago. He openly admited he was shitting himself as he has been a passanger.
He drove it with respect and loved it. Said it was like being in fast and furious when they hit the nos lol Everything just goes blurry. It was nice letting someone else give it some while being sat in the passanger seat.
Spotted a MK2 Focus RS which waved up
So me and my mate ended up at the pub talking cars and he gave me the verdict. Couldnt fault the car, said it was stiff but not uncomfortable, no body role, pulled like a train, nothing rattled and had enough traction in the dry. He said it was like being in a rally car.
Anyway, dropped him off and headed home only to have a Honda driver trying to get into my boot! Why! Really annoyes me this kind of thing, had some jap exhaust dragging behind it and a sticker on the back telling me it was quick. I let him go passed, gave it a squirt when he tried to boot it off and let him know the old girl will make him look silly. He gave the approving nod after that and left me alone
So bought her home and parked her up, got out and walked around her with utter amazement at just how good she is. It is filthy, see pics. But tomorrow it will be cleaned

Well I went and seen a friend today who works for a engineering company. As I was stood chatting away, away from the car. Out walks this older guy and asks who the Cosworth belongs too... I am starting to think have I parked it in the way or something but he then goes on to ask loads of questions about the car, turns out he was the owner of the company and runs around in a brand new Audi RS3. He asked about the performance etc and then followed it up with, the best way to find out how quick it is, we go for a blast with him in his car Being the responsible adult lol I refused. But, top guy. Engineer by trade who built up a company. Sounded very interested in the Cosworth which was nice
I would just like to thank Dr G (Pistonheads) for sending me these

Top guy and the reason why I make an effort to use these forums.
Thank you very much
Today I collected my electric window/boot release plastic cover from the post office which I purchased off Dave (Monster)
Item arrived and in lovely condition, thanks Dave
What a rubbish design these bits are though, I can see why they constantly break
I fitted it but cannot get it to sit flush in the holder? It is like the cables from the switches are stopping it from going down far enough... Anyone got any idea how to resolve this?

I also noticed some black fluid coming from the exhaust, after a quick post on www.escortrscosworth.com it was found the car needed a good run so that is what she got. Took her for a good blast, holding the old girl at motorway speeds and all seems well now. We had a good amount of rain so think that got up the exhaust some how

Cheers mate, I will try and adjust the wires so it allows it to sit in fine
Update.
These turned up yesterday, been sat in my front room making it smell like a condom factory
Toyo T1 Sports

Still got a little bit more left on the ones on the car so these are not getting fitted straight away.
I went for the 235/40/18 for the engels I have on the car. Wanted a bit more rubber on the rear to help keep it in line and someone pointed out the 225 looked stretched on the back which I agree with.
Well I just knew something was going to happen today, and it did... I blew it up!!!!!!!!!
The tyre that is

Went and got the two new rears fitted, a mate was going to do this but on arrival he noticed he did not have the right machine to fit the big tyres so made a call to a local tyre shop who fitted them for Ł15 a corner.
I picked the car up off the Mrs after work and didnt think he looked too bad with the bigger rears, looks wider from behind and has no stretched look which is good, feel slightly softer on the rear which is not a bad thing
I will get some photos up at the weekend after a clean, its filthy
Also been messing around with photobucket and some photo editing bits

I knew it was going too well.
Today, this happened

and to top it all off, the extra rubber I put on the back is still letting it spin as much as it wants in 2nd :headbang:
I have had a mare with this front bumper/splitter! I destroyed the original one on PEG when I had that as well. This one caught just on a lowered kerb It was around 1 inch off the floor No idea how it has broke the bumper as I was doing 1 mph
I have no luck with these splitters, anyone got a cheap one? I like the carbon fibre splitter and if I am honest, thought it would be stronger than the fibre glass item but they really are not. I got a mate who works in carbon and he said he could of fixed the original damage in the center for Ł20 which is what I was going to do, but now I have destroyed part of the bumper, who knows. I might get lucky and undo it and straighten out or something but I cannot see it
Update and loads of photos
I cleaned her today, been a couple weeks since I last did as I have been working on the house.
Went for a nice ride, gave her some beans and it looks like the tyres are starting to grip in second. I have warn them in so it seems
Anyway I gently drove it to some places for some photos and then went for a blast.
This is at Yeovilton Weir, stumbled across a well speced E46 M3 which looked so nice. Owner was not around so took a few snaps and left

I moved up the road to the back end of Yeovilton Navy Camp, took a few snaps and went to move on, ended up at a dead end right on the end of the runway, I was going to take some photos but the gaurds had driven around and gave me the look to leave quickly, so I did

I then moved to Haynes Motor Museum which is where I took most of my pics. This is properly pic heavey so look away now if you dont like looking at Escort RS Cosworths

As you can see, I have killed the front bumper good and proper. Had a price from a mate who makes carbon fibre parts mainly for Hondas etc but said he can fix the bumper and the splitter for Ł70, but did say it would need some paintwork so he is looking into that for me, not as bad as having to replace. Was quoted Ł500 for a new bumper, then paint, then a new splitter.
I am thinking if this splitter gets battered again of maybe getting a fibre glass one and just wrapping in carbon fibre wrap.
I also want to carbon firbre wrap the strut brace and the two chrome tanks under the bonnet. This will match in with the other CF and I hope will not look OTT
All comments welcome, even on my wonkey front splitter/bumper and poor camera work
PS I tried getting arty with the shots as you can tell

Well yesterday I got the car warm, unplugged the ISCV with the engine running and nothing much happened. You could hear a slight difference in noise. Left it unplugged and took her for a spin. Certainly cured the revs hanging around 2000 rpm but still ticking over at 1200 rpm.

After a few miles on the rear tyres I now have grip in second OK not on all surfaces etc. But much better than it was, it is now drivable in all gears so happy days on that.
Not managed to fix the front bumper yet, a mate has quoted me Ł70 to fix the bumper and the splitter, he has to get a price for paintwork on top of that so not the end of the world.
I have now bought a baby seat! We went for the Maxi Cosi Priorifix with the extra head pillow. Not my choice, the Mrs wanted this as it had a much better function of laying the seat back into a sleeping position than the Recaro seat. One thing I do know, it’s a ball ache to get my little girl in and out of the seat, not just this seat but all seats. If I had known this I would of got the seat that turns so it is facing the door when you need to un-belt them etc. I have not tried the seat yet with the belts in the back of the Cosworth but it should be fine.
One thing I would like to know, can you disable the passenger side airbag in an Escort Cosworth? I would prefer for my daughter to ride shotgun when it’s just me and her in the car but don’t want to with the airbag still on. Can anyone confirm if you have to disable the airbag for the front facing baby seats?
I took the car for a blast yesterday and had a few comments, first was from a guy who waved me down from his 4x4. I stopped and asked if I wanted to buy a Chainsaw!!! No thanks, he then moved onto the car, don’t see many of them he said, how much power does it have, is it fast etc
Then I had a guy who was cleaning cars in the car park I put her in ask if it was real, then went on to say you don’t see them anymore and it was good to see them being used. I couldn’t stop long but was happy enough to know this guy was clearly going to keep an eye on the car for me while it was parked
I have to confess, I am finding myself looking in the Pistonheads classifieds again never a good sign with me
I have done nothing to the car over the last few weeks hence no updates, however my house is now starting to look like a house again As soon as that has been finished then I shall have more money to throw away or at least enjoy.
The car has started to get a little tight to get into 1st gear which I thought was alot worse than it is. Took her for a spin today and it still selects just a little stiffer than the rest of the gears. Anyone know how much a rebuild is on a T5? Or just replace 1st gear synchro?
I am surprised at how little attention this car gets on the road, most of my cars are constantly having someone try and push you out the way or egg you on. Not so with this car, seems very strange.
Had a MK2 Golf GTi pull up a long side this the otherday at the lights, I noticed the intercooler hanging off the front of it in my mirror and knew which car it was. Didnt bother to start with, got met with the normal waste gate flutter from the golf, in second I thought I would give it a squirt. The guy didnt want to know when you go passed with the ass twitching and the wheels spinning, I think he knew lol. I did notice the passanger was filming lol so expect that to be on Youtube soon.
Anyway, that is the update so fa. Not much will be done to the car now on the run up to Christmas and it is for sale so who knows it may find a new owner before my next update.
I couldnt resist

Spotted it yet?
Update:
Well we have been having problems selecting 1st gear. Spoke with the guys on www.escortrscosworth.com who advised a few things to try, tried and didnt seem to make any difference. It was put down to a new clutch being needed.
The car would be hard to select first, it would go in but was very stiff and was at the point of not going. I found if I put her in gear when rolling around 10mph she would slot in fine and all other gears worked fine as well.
Took it to a local garage who without looking at the car said it was the clutch Gutted as its a AP 6 Paddle clutch and has completed around 7000 miles
Anyway I have been using the car as it works fine if you have a bit of forward thinking and was setting aside some money for a clutch.
I had a wedding at the weekend and was talking to my counsin who has owned a few of these, he said he would pop round and take a look for me. He did check the car over when I got her and agreed it had all the right bits on her etc.
Anyway a week later and last night he turns up, tried a few things, mainly he wanted to get the car to stall in 4th with the handbrake on to see if the clutch will slip or stall. So we did this which involved the clutch being slipped alot and fighting to counteract the clutch which didnt work. The car stalled which was a good sign. So we checked the ratchest etc which again looked fine. Took the car out for a spin and gave it some hassle, no slipping at all and everytime I selected 1st gear it worked fine. So we have left it to see if it happens again, this morning it was perfect again like it was before. Got a feeling it could of had some dirt or something between the pressure plate and the clutch. So will monitor this and see if it happens again. Failing this I had some things I need to try the next time it does this. My cousin said he would drop the box and replace clutch, release baring and selector all depending on what the problem is.
So at the moment she is back working fine. We also think this could be related to me having to use 1st gear alot to get over some speed bumps so I have been told to use 2nd and avoid bumps if possible which I did this morning.
Going to give her a clean at the weekend and see how we stand.
Been really busy putting my house back together which is coming together now! Carpet being fitted tomorrow
No pics of the car, she is dirty and up for sale lol Had so many random things offered to me for PX. I think she will be staying now unless I get offered a decent amount for her
I cleaned the old girl today, she was looking a little worse for ware as had little time for her the last few weeks with the house work etc.
Gave her a nice clean, got the wheels looking lovely again and thought about clay baring the paintwork and polish etc... But it got the better of me so I took it out for a good blast.
This is the first time since having this car I have properly given it any through the corners and pinned it coming out etc.
WHAT A MACHINE! Being a Cosworth your kind of expecting something to go wrong or the temp gauge to go through the roof but the lad who built this car has made it magic! It just never gets hot. Not once has it gone above half even when sat in traffic for 45 minutes, the fans have only kicked in once and giving it the beans it never really budges from quater the way up the gauge. My old one was constantly getting warm, cooling down etc but this one just loves it!
So how does the car go etc... Well for a start, I can well understand the need for bigger brakes. A few times coming into the corners coming down through the box to ease some of the speed off and anchoring up it just felt like the brakes wouldnt take too much of that kind of driving. Managed to string a good few miles of twisty road together without traffic and really using the revs... Well I say using them, changed around 5.5 and certainly no more than 6000 rpm but this is ample enough to make it go like fook!
Handling is really impressive, I was pushing on and it took everything I could throw at her. I wouldnt want to push anymore on the road but would be good to get her on track and see what the limits are for future reference.
Had a blast down a main road as well, was funny as I was passing through a village and had to let a car come through in front, Up comes this little Polo GTi and the driver giving it the beans as he went passed and hit the brakes as soon as he was by me... I was thinking "well done mate" and thought no more of it. So I go about my lanes and eventually come back to a main road where you can give it some beans, as I came out of the slip road and not hanging about I fly passed this little Polo who by now has obviously seen me flying out of the slip road and giving everything he has got... Around 3 miles later he caught up while I was waiting at the roundabout, he clearly was supposed to go straight on but never, he pulled in behind the old girl.. So off we go, Lucky the road was quiet so I could slip passed a few bits of slow traffic with this kid trying to keep up. I lost him by the end of the road as he couldnt match the beast. Silly bugger was determend which was silly, he was never going to keep up and although it was fine for me to overtake, it was not for him but he still tried. I hope he learnt a lesson, you cannot keep up with everything on the road.
But yeah, A very nice drive in her, weather was cool and dry so perfect for the RWD, best thing I ever did putting the wider tyres on her, she really digs in and sticks now which is great as you can use the power a bit more.
Spotted SiB in his Escort as well while I was warming the car up, car looked very nice and you forget how good they look when your always behind the wheel.
Just got back from a blast in the old girl while the weather is still dry ish. Just giving her a run more than anything, on route home I thought I would go the bendy way home, come around a corner nice and slow and boom... Flood! Slowed right down to see other cars going through and thought it looked fine I would be OK... Started going through in 1st gear with some revs and all was OK until it started coming up over the bonnet
You could feel where the splitter was pushing the water and the engine under strain! Had a proper wave going on. Luckly enough all was well, gave it some revs in second for a few miles and no problems.
Car went well as always, never missed a beat
Been offered the full asking price for the car and in two minds if I should or shouldnt take it. Going to have a good hard long think over the next week and see what happens. Might be changing jobs if all goes well on Monday which means I will need to do no miles for work etc so less pressure on having to keep the car. We will see. One photo of it dirty on a crap phone just to prove these cars do get used

Well nothing has broken... yet lol But it has got very dirty...

So as you can see, it was bad!! I thought I would do a 50/50 with one of the wheels to show the dirt

And this was after I finished the paintwork. I dont bother with two buckets, I keep the hose on and everything I cleaned a part I will wash the mit off with the hose pipe.. It is amazing how much dirt comes out and how clean the water stayes when I do it this way
Paintwork finished with the tyres all sprayed up etc

Just a quick one of a bit of detailing, just put some plastic stuff on, before and after shot

After this I started the inside,
Before

After

Then it was time to make it official....

Fitted

Enjoy and comments welcome
Not managed to fix the front bumper yet, a mate has quoted me Ł70 to fix the bumper and the splitter, he has to get a price for paintwork on top of that so not the end of the world.

Well getting bored of driving the car and finding it a chore to take out, been sorting a valuation out for the old girl and decided it was time to get the service history sorted
This is what it was like before

And this is what it looks like after

Pretty bloody good if you ask me, this car is in the lower end of the price scale and people think history is not very good on the cheaper cars!! Makes me laugh, is this enough history for you?
And just to make you question things...
This is a photo of our BMW E46 330i Sports service book, documentation and full history folder... This car is on 166,000 miles with full BMW service history

Scarey!!!
Today I wanted to do some checks on the engine.
So while she was cold, checked the oil and water, all fine, oil was slightly higher on the dip stick due to the engine oil being correct when it is warm.
Fired the old girl up and let her tick over for a bit, took her to get some fuel and had a quick run around the town, the car has not been getting any kind of hard acceleration due to the weather etc but today it was a nice day so gave it a blat, spat a little bit of smoke from the back the first time I did this but again to be expected. Cleared straight away and went like fook as always.
Got home and let her sit for 20 minutes, checked the oil again and bang on the mark
Checked water again, bit of pressure on the tank which seems normal to me, again all fine.
Now I wanted to check to see if we had any air leaks in the water system so left her ticking over with the cap off, the car has always been amazing at not heating up, fans have only came on once and never been above halfway, will sit on quater unless pushing it hard and then will sit just under half. I get lots of hot air from the heater but just wanted to check it.
So the temp gauge gets between quater and halfway and then starts boiling like a kettle... it then over flows all over my engine
I was shitting it at first but after a quick search found its either got a air lock or the thermostat is staying open/closed... I also found out that it has a lower boiiling point with the cap off so that explains that.
I let her cool down before I went putting my hands in, as my car did have air con but has been removed I tried the old putting the air con on to check the fans work, did this and it worked a treat, nice little thing I can try if it gets hot
Checked all the pipes, full roose silicon hose kit and all in good shape, I filled back up with antifreeze as I was unsure how much she had in her anyway, fired it backup and got it warm again. Turned off, put the lid back on, fired her backup. Sat fine again as it always has. I am going to take the stat out and test, just need a photo to confirm where the stat is, pretty sure I know but want to double check before I do.. also any tips or hints would be great...
While I was there thought I would havbe a sniff, no smell other than antifreeze, no smell from the exhaust of antifreeze, no sludge in the cap, never burns oil, never burns water, oil is the right consistancy etc etc.
So was happy with this side of things, stat is to be changed for peace of mind.
Next I wanted to check the turbo, I know its not done much but it runs a good amount of boost and wanted to check, took the cone filter off and the hose, checked the turbo, hardly any movement which was nice, only thing I did notice was on a couple blades looked like a bit of oil... but unsure.
Photo

So while this was off I noticed this...
Excuse the mess, not touched the engine bay on this car yet, I have no covers on the bonnet vents so water and dirt gets in with ease... I promise to clean it lol
Now is this supposed to connect to anything or at the very least have a pipe running it out to the bottom of the car?

And my next question, what is this tank? it is next to the turbo...?
And next was my alarm, now not going to get into too much detail with this as I am sure some thiefing little P***k is watching this but had some issues getting a new fob to work with my car, a few emails going to and from the company and running some checks, again wont go into any detail... turned out it was the boot switch, a good slam of the boot and it started doing what it should... so now I have a nice shiney new fob...

Going to get another key cut as well, any ideas how much Ford charge for this these days?
********************RESULT********************
Just noticed the boot release button and thought "that wont work" bingo, only went and worked!!! Happy days
Anyone got one of these please, reflector that goes in the passanger side door near the lock?

Update:
Today I tackled the new thermostat install.
My temp gauge only really goes to around quater when warm and the fans only ever kicked in once.
So I was thinking maybe the stat was staying open and causing it to sit cooler....
So ordered from Graham Goode a 4x4 stat and o ring and bought myself some new spanners, the ratchet type but on a normal spanner... if that makes sense..
Anyway, removed the bolts, was tight but not silly, my unit was not leaking etc so wanted to keep it this way.
I didnt bother removing the hose from the stat housing and just undone the bolts, a little knock on the head and it came off, bit of fluid came out. I had a pair of plyers and pulled on the old stat and this fell out.
This is the photos of the two states together

I tested the new stat before I fitted just to be sure, and I tested the old stat when I removed... both worked fine
Anyway, put the new one in, I questioned where the o ring went and after putting it on top of the thermostat and between the housing top, did everything backup and no leaks. I later found out the o ring was not for this part...but as it is not leaking... I am going to leave it in.
So undone the bleed valve on top of the housing, took the cap off the header tank and started the engine, I squeezed the inlet and outlet for the rad and put some more coolent in the tank. I undon the bleed valve a bit more until only water was coming through. Nipped this backup and let the car get to full temp.
This took 30 minutes!!! My car is a beast when it comes to keeping itself cool. I was concerned about it to start with but I left it and left it ticking over until it eventually got to halfway and the fans kicked in. No water leaks, no smoke, no hot smell, nothing!! I am very impressed with how well this engine keeps itself cool. Not once have I had it heating up. The fans have only came on once before!
So after the fans kicked in I squeezed everything again, no air in the system, and the fans took the temps back down to quater on the temp gauge.
So overall... I am very impressed with this car. Muy old car was constantly heating up, fans kicking in, cooling down, heating up etc. This car will deal with traffic, never heats up when giving it the beans... its like she is egging you on to drive her harder and harder!!!
I know all the bits on this car have been assembled to improve this kind of thing which is great.
I also am confident she has plenty of antifreeze in her too for the winter which is nice, another tick off my list.
I spoke to a mate who works in the trade and asked to get me some Fuch Titan Pro s 10w50 which he said he had, went to collect and it was 5w40 so left it. Need to get some in at some point and change the oil.
Car is filthy again, farmers around this area are taking the piss with the dirt on the road. Car is a handful as well, third gear spins on part throttle so have to go careful. But enjoying her none the less and happy now I know sitting on quater is right for the car
Well today the Mrs got me with the usual "DIY Jobs"
So I got her to clean the car
This is the result!!
Please not, I told her not to bother with the tyre shine as it will be going down some lanes tomorrow so will be filthy again

Not bad if you ask me, light was getting short hence the dark photos, could of overexposed a bit more but not really in the mood at the moment
O yeah, also took her out for a bloody good drive today with a mate, car was faultless.. I am pretty sure the stat I took out was a 82 degree stat though as my temp gauge now sits a little higher, between quater and half way. Gave it the beans up through the gears and didnt rise, stuck in traffic etc spot on, no movement at all. So happy about that, checked for any leaks again today and nothing, had to top up slightly on the header tank and that was that. Checked the coolent again after a good hard drive and cool down and all still there
This is what it was like before

And this is what it looks like after

Checked the coolent again after a good hard drive and cool down and all still there
Wanted to get another key cut as I only had one
Called a local mobile key cutting company who after speak with him gave me some great advise, very honest guy. He was based in Stoke Sub Hamdon, will not mention company names etc.
So off I went to get a price from Ford, as always over twice the price of another local company. Got the key cut and sorted, happy days. I tried it in the ignition and on the back of this key where it goes into the ignition it has like little teeth... You can feel them grab when moving the key in and out. I am sure this will be fine after a few months but none the less, it works and is a nice spare sat with the spare key fob I have for the car.
Starting to get all these little jobs sorted now which is nice, makes it less of a pain as less needs to be done and all the little things work or have been resolved.
UPDATE: BIG ONE!
Right, this photo to most is not much to look at, but to me... it is a massive weight off my shoulders and a massive relief!!!

A really long story in short form.
We had some serious floods down in the South West, on one of my travels I came across what didnt look like a massive flood, watched a couple cars go through and looked OK, so off I went. I started panicing when the water could be seen level with my bonnet
Nothing I could do at that point other than keep the revs up and go. I could feel the engine being put under strain with the amount of water the front splitter was pushing! It was that much I actually swomped a car coming the otherway, water went up over her bonnet...
So after this the car was fine, thought I got lucky with that and went on my way, checked everything under the bonnet and all looked well, car ran fine as always.
Now around two weeks after, I get in the car after checking the fluids etc before setting off (all fine) and around ten miles up the road I was starting to wonder why it was not getting warm in the car, checked the temp on the heater, was set to high, checked the temp gauge for the water, was warmed up... checked the fan speed... boom, was on number 3 and no noise or life from the heater.
So I do what all Cosworth owners do, straight on the net when I got home to check what it could be. Checked the fuse and this was fine, seen a few people mention the fuse box.... I had my cousin come round and check the earths etc, power at the switch etc etc... After a chat my cousin was convinced it just had some water in and it might dry out when used... the internet however was telling me this is the first sign of the fuse box going... I seen the next thing to go was the fuel pump and didnt want to get the car stranded anywhere as I know the front splitter would have to come off to get it on the back of a lorry.
So I left it on the drive and went on the hunt for a fuse box. Didnt really fancy a second hand one as will no doubt be the same as mine, I was opting for resoldering but my cousin (electrician) didnt have the time and I didnt fancy it... So off to Ford I go to find a fuse box, I had the numbes...(BAB) and asked the ford parts guy, he came back with Ł323 all in but was unsure if they had any. I spoke with a mate who could get discount at Ford but was still Ł300. While searching for more info on this I seen someone mention Fordspartsuk.com and they came back at Ł281... so bit the bullet and bought it. Turned up a few days later and I managed to book half a day off work to get this fitted. Asked around the forums for tips and hints etc and set on with the task in hand.
Was a little bit worrying but it is a straight forward job when you take the worry away from it.
Before I removed the fuse box I started the car just to make sure it was still running etc and it was.
Disconnected the battery and took some photos of the three red power connectors to the back of the fuse box.

I marked these up and took photos so I could replace in the correct order, then started removing the wiring etc

On my fuse box I noticed I had two cables coming into the top and pluggin into certain places on the board... I am a complete novice when it comes to this so didnt think much of it, marked where they came from and carried on taking it out.
And this is the fuse box out

Old v New

New fuse box

So that was easy enough, put all the little copper connectors for the heater etc into the fuse board as well but didnt photo that
Then started to put the box back in, nice and easy at this point
So now I am thinking, what is this

I know it went in one of the slots in the background but none did anything.
So put the battery back on and turned the key, everything worked when the ignition was on including the heater so happy days I thought
How wrong was I!!
Turned the key and nothing, not even trying to turn the starter motor over or anything.
Gutted in a understatment.
So onwards and upwards I thought, started checking relays, fuses, connections etc, checked and double checked the battery, all fine.
Looked around on the net etc and nothing pointing to this issue.
I was becoming lost and dropped a text to Mark Barber asking a question and he asked to call.
So I did
After a good chat with Mark and telling him what I have done and what I have found we started trying things, Marks first thought was the ford immobiliser, so put the key in the lock and turn left or right etc... bad news, my car is de-locked, a great security feature but terrible when you need to turn the immobiliser off.
I took both door cards off on a very cold night in super quick time and found the immobiliser part on the lock and tryed all combinations to get it to start, nothing
Called Mark and let him know, by this time its dark and bloody cold so Mark gave me some things to try etc the next time I could get at the car.
So I tried a combination of things including putting the old fuse box back in and still would not start
By now I am feeling worried and annoyed at the car, Mark reassured me it would be OK and worst case he would come down in his spare time and help me out!!!! WHAT A LEGEND! We do not know how lucky we are to have Mark involved with these cars and the RSOC. Best thing I ever did was sign up to the RSOC! Just the knoweldge alone Mark has is second to none, then you add in how much of a true enthusiast he is and a great bloke!
So Friday afternoon was booked off and I started going through the list of things I needed to try. While I had a spare 5 minutes I sent a photo to Mark and asked if it looked right (of the fuse box) a phone call shortly from Mark told me I was missing two relays which could be the problem.
Now the plot thickens as I start digging into the history and found out my car has a Fraser Fuel pump loom which changed things. Mark said he had some relays and would send them to me so they turn up Saturday morning (what a gent, never asked for postage or money!!!!)
So Saturday morning came and so did the post man, I was a bit down in the dumps with the car at this time and was not confident but off I went. I had to put the new fuse box back in etc and put the new relays in.... turned the key and the starter motor turned!!!!!!!!

I jumped out with a big smile on my face, we are getting somewhere.. the car would still not fire and I thought this could be related to the loom.. So I put the little black cable back into the fuse box like it was on the old box and tried again.. First time

I am not joking, I jumped out of the car and kissed it and started jumping around celebrating!!!
My mate was pissing himself and people looking out the windows thinking what the hell is he up to lol.
Such a relief! And all the thanks goes to Mark Barber! Without his know how and time this would of cost me a shed load of cash and time without the car.
This has also highlighted a massive problem I have, no one in my area can look after this car when I get issues like this.
Friday night me and the Mrs decided if it would not go with the new relays I was going to ask Mark to take it back to his workshop and make her breath again and get a few bits sorted over a period of time, was looking at buying a cheap run about while it was with him etc. Thought a few months away from the car would get the love back.
I am over the moon the car is now backup and running!
So, after I celebrated I got my head back onto this journal and started putting the car back together and taking photos
This is what she looked like taken a part

Then I started putting it back together

I want to say thank you to everyone who helped as well, all suggests much appreciated.
Thank you all
Mark
One of the reasons I bought this car
The sound of it
Click the imagine below to view video

No land speed records were broken while filming this, road was empty, never broke the speed limit blah blah blah. Enjoy
Well not used the car all Christmas, seen a few of you guys saying about missing them so thought I would take her out to rekindle some love.
My god does she ever go!! Nice cold weather and dry roads opening the taps through 2nd, 3rd and 4th and it pulls like a train right the way through. Surprised me really.
Car was faultless as always. Seen a R33 GT Skyline which looked "drift ready" going down the A303 but he didnt play, he thought about it though but a quick squiert and he kept away.
Over all really pleased with the car, it is filthy though so will need to clean it at some point. No photos as it was dusk when I left and fully dark when I got back. Car is perfect at the moment
Well the Mrs has had a pretty shit 3 months and one of the reasons not much has been done on this.
Her Grandad died a couple months ago and her Dad died yesterday, roll on 2014!!!
Anyway, my car was in need of a clean and I thought I would clean hers, anything to try put a smile on her face again.
My car before

After

While I am here, might as well put some up of the Mrs car

This car is with no question the best car we have ever owned. It has cost us 2 tyres. Passed the last two MOT's with flying colours. For the money these cars are changing hands for these days, I would have no issue with buying another to do my dailey miles in.
This one has a decent spec, Harmon Kardon, Bluetooth handsfree, Black nappa leather, parking sensors, auto lights, auto wipers, xenon lights, steering wheel controls, cruise control, duel digital climate control, air con, electric everything, manual and rare rear folding seats which gives plenty of room to move stuff around in. Love this car, everytime I get in her and drive, I always find myself telling the Mrs how good the car is
Comments welcome
I am thinking about getting the wheels reconditioned as they let it down a little, paintwork is pretty good, not amazing but with 163,000 miles on the clock its pretty good.
Update:
OK as most will know from my posts on the forums, I was loosing coolant.
I checked after Christmas when the car was sat for 2 weeks not being used and found the header tank empty !!!! As you can imagine, this was a worry. So put the coolant back in, ran the car to full temp and checked again, put a bit more in, ran the car again and went on like this.
As the car has not been used much at the moment and its been wet all the time it is hard to pick out a water leak etc.
I noticed a small amount of coolant leaving the car and the smell of exhaust in the header tank... I found out that with the bailey header tanks you have to fill to the top of the top inlet, I was not. Once this was above this mark I couldnt smell any exhaust.
I dipped the tank, looked nice and clean, no signs of oil. No oil on top of the water. The oil looked fine, compared to another car running the same oil and they was identical to the eye. No sludge or mayo in the tank or dip stick? the car drove spot on, no missing or poor idle from cold or hot. Pulled like a freight train as she does.
Spoke with Mark Barber who advised a few bits to check, new cap being the main thing. Searched around on the net and found one. I also had a reply back from Burton Performance who had them in stock. I ended up getting mine from Rapid Ford for Ł18 delivered.
Mark advised to get a pressure test on the coolant system, so I rang up during last week for someone to do this, everyone charging Ł50 to do this. I booked Tuesday off work so I had time to go in and stay with the car. Never bothered booking as I heard a couple bad stories from the garage and woke up Saturday with a bee in my bonnet so off I went to find a garage to do it.
First person I called and was recommended was Mike from Barge Motors. Have been told he is a ex owner of a Escort Cosworth and Sierra Cosworth, his son apparently owned a couple too. I gave him a call and asked for a coolant pressure test, he replyed yes that is fine we can do that. He asked what car it was and as soon as I said Escort Cosworth his tone changed, for the good
Sounds really enthusiastic towards the car which was great, around my local area I get people telling me to take it somewhere else!! (This is what I had from the garaged I used for all my BMWS... Was not happy with that so wont be using them again)
So he said bring it up at 11 and they will do it while I wait, I asked how much and he said, just bring Ł20... Happy days.
So gets there at 11, walks into the reception and there is a A3 sized photo of a Escort RS Cosworth
Mike comes out and asks me to bring the car in, he had no problems with me being with the car while one of his guys setup the pressure test. They pumped the system up and looked around the bay, nothing. Pressure was holding firm. So he gave it a couple more pumps and again looked around, nothing. Mike came out and got under the bonnet and looked in every nook and cranny. He was suspecting the water pump when I spoke with him on the phone but said it was dry and holding fine.
He looked down the back of the head and said it is even dry down there which surprised him.
While this was going on we was having some small talk about his old Escort and my car. I pulled my wallet out and asked how much, he refused to take any money!!!! I couldnt let that happen. I slammed Ł20 in his hand and refused to take it back. What a nice guy, I have found my new garage
So I was having a chat with him and asked if we could try a leak down test after I fitted the new cap.
So today was D Day, day off, car booked in with Mike again and off I set, he asked if we could leave the car with him so he could do it between jobs, no problem for me. I usually refuse to leave my cars with garages unless I know them but for me, I trusted them. This is rare!
As I parked the car I walked passed his workshop and on the ramps was a very tidy looking Sierra 4x4 Cosworth in white! Something just feels right when you see another Cosworth on the ramps next to yours
This car turned out to be Mikes old car! The guy who owns the Sierra also owns a small turbo Escort Cosworth.
Anyway, a few hours later Mike said he would call. Nothing! I am starting to pace now lol. Anyway, I picked the Mrs up for lunch and she works near his garage so popped in, he said they have been very busy blah blah blah, no problem, he is doing me a favour getting the car in.
So I drop back to him around 3.30, I can see the car has moved and with a heavey heart I asked how it got on. He just smiled, said it passed both tests. No coolant/Oil mix, compression test on all cylinders was good! I nearly fell over! I was expecting at the very least a headgasket replace. He said to try the cap when it arrives and keep an eye on it. He got the car up on the ramps, got under her and checked, could not see anything wrong with it.
I asked what state the spark plugs was in and he said all good, he said 3 and 4 was a slightly different colour but he said this is or could be related to me not having the idle speed control valve fitted... No idea how this works etc but he was confident it was not a problem.
I went to pay and he refused! Said the money I gave him last time was more than enough to cover the costs!!
I shook his hand and thanked him! You do not get people like this anymore! What a gem of a bloke.
So off I go, get back in the car and she is driving as she was before, lovely!
Just waiting for the cap to arrive now to try this and fingers crossed, this will resolve the issue.
Out of all the things I regret, my main one is not knowing or using Mike at Barge Motors sooner on my Cosworths! I have found that local garage that loves the car, takes time and works on it like its there own. Happy to help out and nothing is too much hassle!
I told the Mrs and after the shit couple months she has had I think it was one less thing off her mind. No so much that she is bothered about the car but she knows it makes me happy and if the car is unhappy, she knows I am. Very lucky to have her
So, I am not in a dilema!
The car is advertised for sale, I have three people who want to come and view the car. I know in my head maybe it is time to let her go before it gives me a stroke... but my heart is telling me different.
To add to this little story, I had a chat with my old boss who has offered me a job.... this means no staying away, no driving and more money! Which means I do not need the car for anything work related. It will become a weekend or evening car again.
So time for me to sit down and think it over now. If anyone has anything to add or advise or things that might help my decision, fire away. I am all ears.
One very happy owner....... at the moment
Some more photos from my shoot

Update:
Well a few weeks ago a local chap contacted me through Facebook and asked if he could take some snaps of the Escort. Today was the day we met up and took the photos.
The guys in question are Sam Potter and Shane O'Malley
Facebook page
http://www.facebook.com/#!/SamPotterPhotography?fref=ts
I was unsure of what to expect as never done anything like this, we met at a local office complex which was a respectable back drop for the photos.
Shane and Sam arrived and started unloading the kit, I am not up on my cameras etc but the kind of kit these lads have is massively impressive!
Sadly the weather was not on our side much, light drizzle constant through out the day added with loads of dull and low cloud.
You will also have to excuse my battered splitter and front bumper. Really wish I got this sorted now :headbang:
Sam and Shane specialise in the car show scene and if anyone is having a local meet/show in or around the Somerset/Dorset area and want some high quality images taken of your cars and turned into prints, discs with the photos on, canvas etc then give them a shout, very helpful lads, showed me what the camera could do which was very interesting and took time to get quality.
I have had to upload the photos to photobucket which has sucked the life out of the quality but you get the idea.

Excuse the dirty engine bay

Result!!!
Just been out to the car and checked the coolant and noticed some coolant had leaked onto the belts under the thermostate housing!! It has used hardly anywater since the cap has been done up tighter and I think this is where the last little bit was going.
I will nip that up at the weekend and job done
Met up with Petenofear and Leggy Pete today as we are all local.
Good to meet you guys, will have to do some local shows etc with the cars when the weather is better.
A couple snaps I took on my phone (poor quality) Petenofear, let me know if your happy for the video to go up, its not too bad as traffic was in the way?
petenofears new purchase

Very nice car
And this is Leggy Petes who is a bit of a bufty unlike me and petenofear haha

I didnt take any of mine but I am sure the other guys did. Its looking like its just rolled off a rally course.
First time I have been in any MK1 Focus RS and managed to go in a modded car and a standard car in one day back to back. Very capable car in standard form!! I can see why they hold so much respect, also very nice when you put a bit more boost under the bonnet!!! They both sounded really good, better exhaust note and engine sound than the Cossie in my eyes.
Good to meet up with you gents, post any pics you have on this if you like... I am happy for that video to go up as well Pete if you can get it on
Also, before this I removed my broken front splitter as it was trashed good and proper..
Photo of it before it was binned

All I can say is it looks hideous without a splitter. I have left the hockey sticks on as they are riveted on so just need to buy a carbon fibre splitter and get it on. I will do that when the sun comes out. Its so nice having a car that can go over anything over 1 inch in height again
Little video of the Escort. Met a few local guys with MK1 Focus RS's who wanted to see what the Cossie was all about

Trying some different shampoo out, TurtleWax liquid gold. I have washed it once before with this stuff but bottled it and dried it myself.
This time I have left it to do its thing. Not confident but does not matter much, will be dirty Monday

Front splitter has now been removed. Makes going over speed bumps and rubbish roads much better. It is a shame it looks rubbish without it otherwise I would keep it like she is now
Just got back from a run (physical) and seen the Escort looking nice in the night light so got the DSLR Out and had a little play

Another massive thank you to Mark Barber!!! Put a wanted add up a week ago and Mark saved the day
Today I recieved these items

and

There is two of these but one was fitted before I took the photo.
So this now means my bumper sits alot better than it did
Drivers side

Passanger side (This was the side which was missing)

Thanks again Mark, best thing I did joining the RSOC
So as mentioned above, the splitter was removed which gave me a good view on the damage to the bumper. Not as bad as I thought and had a price of Ł100 to fix and spray so a cheap fix
This is a photo of the damage

Lucky for me, it was only the middle splitter that was broken, the bottom item and hockey sticks are all in good shape. I am keeping an eye out for a middle splitter and just waiting for the right time to buy.
Not sure if anyone has one of these spare? but I need one

These go on the doors, some kind of reflector
As like the rest of the UK, we had snow. I nearly got stuck out in the car which would of been a nightmare, lucky for me I got her home and safe. Took me ten minutes to get on the driveway though... was good fun

The weather has got better now and for the first time managed to get my daughters car out to play

And after a clean at the weekend, like always it rained. Noticed the paintwork bubbled up nicely so took a couple snaps of the old girl with my phone

And that is it for now.
Called a local mobile key cutting company who after speak with him gave me some great advise, very honest guy. He was based in Stoke Sub Hamdon, will not mention company names etc.

He asked what car it was and as soon as I said Escort Cosworth his tone changed, for the good
So he said bring it up at 11 and they will do it while I wait, I asked how much and he said, just bring Ł20...

The mk1 was more tame in how it drove (I was just a passanger) didnt feel as dramatic but then it was a good amount less powerful.
The Escort does feel old compared to the MK1 but it has that kind of old school feel where you are doing it rather than the car if that makes sense. I think if I did more miles I would prefer a MK1 as it was a less grawling drive.
Cheers for the comments guys, no real plans to sell at the moment. Will see how the summer goes with the old girl

Today I thought I had enough time to get a good amount of the engine bay cleaned up but turned out I didnt.
As I have no doubt already said, the car will not be used daily at the end of next week so starting to get her how I want. Engine bay has never been very pretty in the old girl, a good clean and a change of colour on the tanks and I will be happy.
These are the before photos, they was taken on my DSLR.

And this is a couple of the front grill area that I was working on today before I ran out of time.

All I have done is take the front grill off, remove the bonnet lock/catch and use Megs compound cutter to clear the grime off. Did not have time to put any polish and wax on this area yet but the time will come.
Plans are to remove the two chrome tanks, get them cackle black or satin finish, when removed clean up the suspension tops and arches etc and as much as I can get to.
Going to try and change some of the fixings for new items just so it looks a bit fresher.

Well its now official. The car is no longer a daily. Although it can be used as a daily if I want, I am now working close to home and can walk or get a lift to work etc.
Last time I drove the car was Thursday, put Ł20 worth of fuel in and parked her up. Not really feeling the love at the moment and not in the mood to drive the car, it has been cold and did have it spinning in 4th under part throttle... as you can imagine, its not much fun to drive when it is trying to kill you.
So started her up today and gave it a clean, wanted to get the salt off the old girl as its not going to be used for a bit now.
So cleaned it and took a couple snaps on my Samsung Galaxy S3... Not bad for a phone!!

I also got my subwoofer sorted in the back of the car. Ended up soldering the terminals and wrapping etc, tucked all the cables away so it looks half decent. No photos of this but you can guess what it looks like.
While I was putting the cables away I found this on the passanger side in the boot?
Any idea what this is?

Also used the Liquid Gold car shampoo and it does not work on a black car. It was leaving water marks on the paint so wiped it down myself.

I had a nightmare! Accidently deleted the photos so had to buy a caddy to put the memory card in, then when I found them I had over exposesed a bit too much
Anyway, these are the photos of the two cars. Mine looks like crap without the front splitter
Photos removed, please see below for the new version of these photos

Yes mate it is, confirmed on another site. ASB unit which still works
Just purchased a front splitter for my car. Cannot stand it looking like rubbish anymore! I am tempted to paint the hockey sticks in satin black and do away with the carbon fibre stuff now. Either that or wrap the new front splitter I just bought to try and match the hockey sticks?

Bumper removed. Fixed, sanded down, sprayed, carbon fibre hocky sticks removed, sanded down, treated and sprayed in satin black. Both front splitters fitted back on the car. Car is now back at home.
Car is no longer a daily. Not really used it in over a month. Picked the car up last night in the dark and its covered in dust. Will try and clean and put some photos up.
This one is terrible in the snow being rwd. Its like a broken pencil, pointless

Well as most will know who have read this, knew the car took part in a photoshoot a few months back now. Well the guy who took the photos mentioned he was going to try get it in some mags etc to high light his company to the masses etc.
Long story short, got a message saying to check a website.
And found these

I have just took it straight from the website so the quality has been lost. Going to try and get a hard copy.
Mag is called Modified Extreme.. Never heard of them myself and was not expecting much but a quick glance through the other cars and looks a half decent read.
Link to the issue

So at least it made one mag haha. Expecting something in Rallye news soon as well

Cheers guys. Went to start the car Sunday to take to a mates to clean and the battery is completly dead. Not even enough to power the clock!
Going to take the battery off tonight and charge, see what I have by tomorrow night and failing that get a new battery. Found one for Ł43 and some adapters to round pin in Halfords for Ł4.99.
Just another thing I have changed on the bloody car!
