That's more than I want to do the complete conversion for! Bound to be a standard fitment flywheel in another ford that will work with another cars clutch to be more a less a direct fit, ill get the steel flywheel machined and lightened as I have done to several hi rpm hondas with great success and leaves them really fast reving cars which the st170 isn't and lacking badly

Might call into the auto factors for sizes and specs of the different clutches see if one could be made work! But wonder does the 1.8 flywheel work on the st170 fwd setup aswell with standard box

I'd be interested to hear your findings. My thoughts are the same about something else in the range must fit.
However all searches I've done say that nothing else fits due to the getrag box. The same crops up on American svt focus. Crazy money for import of lightened flywheels from over there. Will pedley has a setup advertised over this side of the Atlantic.

Who's he?? I've seen some of the lightweight conversions use a cavalier turbo clutch kit but I can't confirm if a dead cert or if it will bolt to a ford flywheel that fits our crankshaft

I've had contact with clutchcityonline.com in the us.
They sell a complete kit from luK including flywheel.
They say it is an stronger one comparred with the original clutch and its very good money to.

TTV will supply a aliminium fly and clutch in the U.K
I imported my Clutchmasters Stage 3 from the states after very poor service from TTV
Out of all the bolt on mods i did on my ST170, the lightened fly made THE biggest difference.

Clutch chatter is there and you can hear it inside and outside the car, simple way of stopping chatter is to push the clutch pedal down as this disconnects the engine from the gearbox and stops the gears rocking. It is very noticable but you get used to it. It feels like a standard clutch no heavy pedal and the bite is like standard but it really hooks up, i could hit 60 in sub 7 seconds with the lightweight fly and other bolt on mods.
