Default Ford SportKa, opinions?

What are folks views on SportKa's? For some reason they dont seem to be mega popular, is there a reason for this? Im going to view a couple tomorrow for our lass, are there any specific points or common faults to watch out for?

door sills rot and near petrol flap like the old mk3 fez, they are nippy but they drink fuel which is a surprise for a 1.6, if a bulb goes expect a crappy job going through the arch liner, black and imperial blue ones fetch best money, decent spec ones have A/C

Cool so its just the usual Ka/Fiesta rot spots then. What are the engines like reliability wise, there the 'sigma' engines aren't the? Out of interest how much do the floorpan and suspension differ to the standard Ka?

Imo the two biggest negatives are how expensive they are to tax and the amount of fuel they drink. Quite common for head gaskets, and plastic thermostat housings cracking.

Cheap to buy and handle well though

They rot like nobodys business. A friend had one brand new a few years ago, put an induction kit on it and it sounded the nuts! They handle really well and although they aren't that quick, with the noise and the fact you can put it into any bend at any speed, it felt like you were doing a million miles an hour.

I would recommend one, so long as you can find a good one!

the poor fuel consumption is down to the gearing they have a quite low close ratio gearkit to get better mpg on motorways change the 5th gear to a std ka 5th gear they are lot taller so your not reving the nuts off it in top gear
