Default Inlet lengths

Difficult one to explain, but is there any downsides to relocating your air filter? If you're actually making it a greater distance from where it was if that makes sense? I'm not talking to the back of the car distance but to an area with greater cold air flow? So it might only be a few inches?

Car is a 1.7 Puma by the way.
Ben.

it does make a difference, but i don't think you'd notice on that engine, it would affect torque and engines ability to breathe.
just do it, it'll benefit from cooler air.
