Hi guys i've got a 1958 Ford anglia which i drag race and use on the road currently running a 1800rs zetec lump, ive been and got myself a 2.0 bottom end with the intention to 2.1 it! whilst im changing all the piston's rods etc, i thought i might aswel put low compression stuff in and bolt a supercharger on it as i love the sound of a charger
I'm new to forced induction really so i need a bit of help on the subject, anyone familiar with different types of superchargers etc? and whether i stick some wilder cams in aswel with bigger valves or just keep standard cams?
I've been quoted on some 'eagle' con rods which will stand up to 900bhp but im not planning on going anywhere near that ha!
Any help will be appreciated!
Tom

Well im thinking at a start of 250-300bhp as a round figure to start with, but deffinately want to build it so i can add alot more at a later date when i get used to it
Will Pedley prob best guy to get in touch with had a charged zetec in his focus now turbod and ready for time attack
get some pics up to fancied building a quick anglia for a while myself

Just out if interest way charge it? I know it's your choice and FairPlay if that's wat you want..... But you do know that a engine with 300hp would be so cheap and easy with a turbo. Just incase you have not thought about that route.

Deffinately thought the same as you never see massive power figures out of supercharged cars compared to turbo ones. As i only drag race it i dont particularly want any lag, and like i said at the start i love the sound of a charger haha! also as i havent got alot of room in my engine bay, with a charger i can mount it anywhere within reason.

right guys sorry to disapoint but after a long hard sit down and think, im deciding to go turbo as in the long run i expect to get alot more power than a supercharger
The right supercharger kit will see a solid 270bhp on a virtually standard £100 scrap yard Zetec engine. If you wanted around this power I'd be tempted to stay that way purely for simplicity!

I was reading you're post last night about your mate testing his engine till failure and thought id love to see 400+bhp in the anglia at a later date so you fully tempted me in that thread haha
Iv been in a charged Clio running 275 and the power delivery was amazing. No waiting for boost to build then when it comes in sitting their spinning the wheels. Its just out and out acceleration. Far more usable power than a turbo.
Saying that with you being RWD id go turbo as you can put big turbo power down on the tarmac and price for price its going to cost the same but with far more potential running turbo.

either way though i can still build a strong motor and then decide at the end which type of boost im going ha! on a 19 year olds wages its not gonna be a quick engine build to say the least
