As above.......thinking of selling the Mondeo ST and getting a Focus ST. I know it's never gonna be great on fuel and certainly nowhere near what I get with the Mondeo, but what should I expect??
on a long journey cruising 35-40 all day long town use 20-23
mixed driving 22-28 and thats with or without the car mapped. just depends on your control of ure foot and speed
If it has no history then I would avoid it. There is so many of them on the second hand market that you have plenty to choose from! You need proof that it has been serviced regularly, turbo'd cars don't like missing services much!
Would any of you be wary of a 2007 with 90k miles and no history????? What should I look out for??
Thanks
Mine has a full history including all the pdi's and is on 110k dont use oil still very tight , the only reason I got the car was due to how well it's been looked after and the history
I changed my Mondeo ST to a Focus ST. I was surprised how comfy the ride is compared to the Mondeo - not as comfy, but still very good that you can do long trips without back ache etc..
I did 20,000 miles last year in mine and I'm still averaging over 30mpg. I do 75 miles a day on busy roads so keep it at about 60>70mph so can be economical if you drive it leisurely.
I do have more "exhilarating" moments though but it's stayed over 30mpg somehow. Bluefin stg2 + Airtec Gen2 intercooler. No other performance mods.
Things to check:
Alternators - especially 06 platers
Oil Diaphragm replaced yet? If it whistles a bit, then pull the dipstick to stop = needs replacing
Front lower bushes replaced with powerflex stiffen things up nicely at the front.
They're generally pretty reliable if well looked after - walk away if there's not a good service history.
We can do a trade I'll bung you some carbon bits and you do my lights lol
Sounds good mate, it would take me 2-3 weeks or so to do between other commitments. Every time I do a set I swear I am never doing them again as they are a bastard lol
Will be when I can find one in my price range. Ford made a bit of a cock up not putting the FST engine in imo. Just wish I could afford an FST so I could have turbo power!
Some lovely cars on this thread. not jealous at all......
