Ford Fiesta 1.25 Zetec 2001 wont start
Hi, I'm having problems with my Ford Fiesta 2001 1.25 16V. It stood for a couple of weeks in bad weather. When I tried turning it on, the key would go to the 2nd position and all the lights would turn on, but trying to go to the final position did nothing. Steering lock was released but it seemed to refuse to go any further without snapping the key.
Eventually after lots of WD40 and Damp Start spray we sometimes got the car to try and turn over, but there was no spark, or there was a clicking noise coming from the engine. Due to circumstance I had to leave it for a week again, and I'm back at the beginning, the key wont turn to the final position, nothing.
I tried finding the starter motor to give it a whack but its so well hidden, i cant get to it. I've sprayed the spark plugs, and tried jumping the car, all didn't help.
We reckon it could be the ignition barrel?
Has anyone else had this problem/ found a solution?
Any advice would be very welcome!

100% dead battery mate. Stick a new one in there and be as good as new. You could try jump starting it off another car or charging the battery if you can but it will more than likely fail on you again. New battery job done. Eurocarparts are doing some deals at the minute with 20-25% or so off on new batteries online.
I would think that the key is turning to the final position its just that it is so dead that the relay doesn't even click thus you have the illusion that the key is not turning all the way to the start position. If you got it clicking with damp start and WD40, chances are high that your battery is stone dead flat and not even a jump start will get it going. Try replacing with a known working battery if you can to eliminate the battery issue.
