Right guys, a few if you will know that I have got another car lined up, in the shape of a MK4 Escort 5 Door. I have been looking at selling my Saph for a while now and I have been on the search for an escort for say a week and a bit

I was talking to a Friend who told me he has a friend who is selling an escort for £700. I asked about a swap for my Sierra and he got to My Saph and £150, Bargain.

So a big shout out to RSMat who has lent me the money so I can get it.

The car is complete bar an exhaust, but I'm in minds of an RS Turbo Exhaust.

The Escort should be getting dropped off at mine either the end of this week or the beginning of this week.

Escort looks a cracker.

An Rs turbo exhaust won't fit Lewis.

But don't be silly with it. IMO I'd leave it as it is and enjoy it. Don't bother with Rs turbo bumpers etc. Then your trying to be something it's not.

Far better first car

Don't bother with a turbo exhaust, the bore is far too big for an NA car.

 

far better choice at ur age ,saying that I had a rst at 17 suits the wheels aswell

 

Andy, with it being a CVH engine I thought an RS Turbo exhaust would fit, or is it the exhaust mounts?

Lewis, it'll mount on the body.

But an Rs turbo exhaust bolts to the back of the turbo. Which you don't have.

If you want to tune it, I'd fit a zetec on bodies or a tuned cvh on carbs. But then your fuel will vanish

I am told there is a set of Cobra Monaco bucket seats in the front, so they will be removed an replaced with some Recaros. As the Cosworth/RS Turbo Recaros are the most comfortable seats I've ever sat in!

Something like a Janspeed exhaust is what you want. You can probably get manifolds from the likes of Ashley, but they won't do that much for performance.

dont get caught up in what you can do to it, it`ll have it off the road fucked in bits and piss you right off!

leave it as-is, cut the exhaust tailpipe off and weld a 3.5 / 4 inch tailpipe on, more noise and better looks

RST exhaust make it slower, lack of back pressure etc etc etc oh and sound SHYTE

It won't fit as yours is N/A, so it will differ at the manifold connection, plus the design of the exhaust is all wrong for that engine.

Looks tidy though.

Just concentrate on getting road legal. It looks like it needs nothing. Once your road legal, buy a knackered mondeo 2.0 and transplant it as long as your not going to drive like a hoon!

 

Thanks a lot Andy I've asked Marc what he's got, don't think he said anything about an interior.

My mate said he's going to throw in an 88 Spec RS Turbo bumper then another mate has said he's got a complete RST kit I can have. If I do alter it I will stick the bumpers on, it's easily swapped back over.

It has a 1.6 XR2 CVH in at the min but I'm going to get the original 1.4 aswell, so I can put that back in and play with the 1.6. Then drop that back in when I'm older
