hi there, just wondering what else fits onto a type 9 other than ford stuff, and what ford stuff does? my diesel engine commited suicide due to too much boost n im looking for something else to put in thats still diesel, will a transit lump bolt onto a type 9?

what diesel is it 1.8 sierra. think very little fits diesel type9 box longer input shaft i think.
How about mondeo or focus TDDI lump or swap bellhousing to fit some other make

 

sierra 1.8TD and 2.3d have different bolt patterns to anything else

and the starters are specific to the bellhousings too

and input shaft splines from memory are diesel specific

what about engine and box out of a scorpio TD? Same as 2.5 landrover and marine engines

 

type 9 from the p100 1.8td has a longer bellhousing than the likes of a 2ltr pinto type 9 gearbox (flywheel on the 1.8td is about the same weight as the whole car its a fair old weight lol)

 

dose the 2.3 galexy engine not bolt to the type 9 ? think i was told this but not sure

 

right makes no difference anyhows as its out now and going in is an engine and box from a bmw 325tds, same engine as the scorpio, but better
