well after selling my saph to buy the girlfriend a better car i was getting bored of not having a toy, my mate bought a 106 gti for abit of track fun so i started hunting for one aswell then i came across this mk1 clio 16v everything was pretty much done on it to make a cheap track weapon.

well cheap kind of went out the window instantly lol

spec of the car so far is

f4r 172 conversion
172 manifold, racing cat, scorpion centre section and williams back box lol
182 rs inlet manifold
bmc carbon induction kit
avo coilovers
genuine williams speedline wrapped in goodyear eagle f1's
brembo discs, ferodo ds pads
cobra monaco buckets
stripped out interior

things still need to get are
rollcage
remap
williams/172 widetrack conversion.

Get a hole saw on the inner panels

Get as much weight out of it as poss

 

Most of the 'others' have 172's or 182's lol .. but theyre all fun

Personally I would have bought a 106 gti aswell. More fun with your mate at trackdays in equal cars. Very nice all the same

there will be 2 106 gti's a clio ph1 172 at times 2 172's so should still be interesting plus i personally think the 106 has better handling than the mk1 clio so will be fun

 

nah not expecting much just think it will go well with the matched inlets etc and sharpen things up a touch

 

Yeah good thinking mate, it's just that people hope for 20 horses and get 5 if they're lucky. Can help alter the curve though so worth it for that. Might be worth signing up as a full paid member on cliosport.net. Good guides and info on there if you ignore the silver spoon kids.

im a member there but not paid up and im a member clio16valver aswell some good advice on both sites, im just after small improvements for now otherwise its going to start costing me lol , thanks for the advice

I had a 200+ bhp 106gti track car caged etc...they handle like fuck.

 

they are great little cars

im happy i bought the clio as my mate has sold his gti and bought/buying a ph1 172 so should be fun
