Default 06 transit connect thermostat help

Right I bought a 06 transit connect yesterday an the hour drive back from bristol the heaters didn't heat up at all so I reckon its thermostat my question is without looking at the engine where abouts is the thermostat on these an what tools will I need

Is it a bastard job todo or an easy one?

Remove the intercooler and you will see it.Its only a few bolts that hold the stat in.There is a pipe that goes to the stat housing and goes to the header tank.Sometimes this gets blocked up.

Put a thermostat on my old connect work van was a very easy job. Put a container under the housing to collect any coolant you may loose then just pour it back in the top again!

Mine, did that...took me ages to find out the pipe had blocked.

What does the pipe block up with? Where abouts does it usually block?

I'm gonna flush the system anyway cus the guy I had it off didn't look after it tbh but can't complain only paid £900 for it
