THE RIP THREAD.....ever stuffed you car? let them rest in peace or rise once again
im not being morbid or anything...
just sent the saph in for some brake gremlins sorting. helped strip off the servo and calipers at a mates garage and thats were it stayed over night...next morning comes and my mate jumps in forgeting the old girl has no way of stopping and promptly dives my car into a 6ft cast iron fence ;(.......
So this got me thinking, is not the first time a sierra has had an incident in my ownership, so call this thread more of a confessional for all of you out there.....
I was 15 the first time, i had saved and bought a 1.8lx in white to fix up to use when i passed my test. i worked part time for a car dealer at the time so it was left there....cue a dark night in a carpark...i was reversing (at little more speed than i should of done) and as i couldnt see i was heading for the managers new jag, this resulted in a wrecked sierra and a jaguar pushed up off the ground on a wall.

there was another white sierra that i owned and leant to a valeter at my work, he reversed into an electricity building and bent the back end like a bannana while i was taking out a nice pinto from another to fit to it 10 ft away
last but not least,
when i was 18 i had a silver cossie rep...worst one about this time was that i wasnt even being a prick! i was driving down the road at about 30mph as there wastraffic and speed bumps and she was loooow. an old chap stamped on the brakes in his new merc, i stamped on the brakes and just slid into him on the wet tarmac. Being a young tit i wasnt wearing a belt and soon learnt that lesson as my face made a mess of the windscreen. worst of all i was going to fit cossie brakes that weekend
Now i wouldnt say im a bad driver and am carefull when the time comes to be so. and since the silver sierra i hanvt had even a nudge (touch wood). So it happens to the best of us....we keep our eye off the game for one min or some tosser with a skin full takes a disliking to your pride and joy....too far gone or re-built, post em here
so i will go first...here is a pic of the cossie i have now after the fence, the next pics are the silver rep we rebuilt after the merc! dont be shy!

going round a roundabout and loosing it. Hit a big sign. I did have a pic of the indent it made into the bonnet and the pedals etc. Very lucky the pole hit where it did or I think it could of been a lot worse. The guy who was driving walked away from the accident fine but the car was a goner. Shell was scrap and the engine etc sold on. Shame as it was a really nice car and my first Cosworth. Really didn't want to sell but had no choice at the time
Never mind, I am in a better car now but without the low miles etc (which is good as your always worrying about racking them up)
Few years ago now.
My loverly XR2

Parked up and went to get dinner from the chippy. Ordered then heard a load bang and turned around to see my car bouncing off a Corsa parked in front. Turned out the fella driving the car that hit the back of mine had had a stroke and hit the throttle pedal! I take comfort that my car took the brunt of the force as there were kids in the Corsa in front. Things could have been so much worse!

Replaced with a 1.4s that I fitted with the XR2 running gear from the red car

Almost 6 month to the day that my XR2 was wrote off some twerp from a local ford dealer decided to use my 1.4s as a brake
He was in a KA and drove off (after exchanging details), my car wasn't so lucky

was really bad mate , the driver had his arm out the widnow and it was traped as the car landed on its side , front passenger was okay just pulled muscules in his back , he had to climb out the sun roof the firebrigade had to cut the lads out the back , the seat beat cut into the lads face face and he had 20od stitches the other lad was okay at the time but once he was in the hospital he took a bad turn the xray showed 7 broken vertibrates in his neck and back and now has a 12inch rod in his back , all okay now tho
nope had plently of lock........... exited the roundabout backwards......... and hit the kerb. mashed the wheel , bent the arm smashed the diff and twisted the chassis so that the offside doors wouldn't open all thanks to diesel on a wet roundabout and a fresh pair of ditchfinders on the rear, even 4wd drive didn't help.............
and my escort cabriolet this happened after the recovery truck forgot to strap it down and it shot of the back Last edited by cossiejay; Dec 15, 2012 at 05:32 PM. Reason: link not working
