105E Axle, what power will it take?
Hi all.
I own a 1960 Popular 100E with tube front and Rover V8 and autobox.
It currently runs a 105E rear axle no problems
However i'm turboing it (Janspeed manfold with link pipe, Rajay turbo, TD5 intercooler and blowthru SUs)and not sure about the rear axle surviving very long, expected 220ft/lbs to start with.
Does anyone know what bhp/torque the 105E axle will take? and what breaks when it does let go, ie can I just get some pukka halfshafts made up, or will I need to junk the lot and get a narrowed volvo or Jag IRS
I really wanted to keep the leaf sprung setup, and obviously my pop is narrow. Any suggestions or advice appreciated.

I use a 105E axle in my 100E which has 180BHP(or it did until it blew up a few weeks ago!
) I have done loads of drag racing with it and had no problems so far, the ratio is 4.1 or 4.4 ( cannot remember!) it is also fitted with an LSD.
