reason for asking is never hear of one having gearbox trouble

im sure they use ib5's

Stage one super charged is 280 ish on a stock lump and inlet

Stage 3 gets to about 320 bhp iirc still on a stock bottom end

Have heard of 400 plus. From 2.3-2.5 builds. All of the above is supercharged.

I've heard of plenty of box breaks, I broke mine in a 170bhp st lol.

The mtx out of a mondeo duratec will go in with out custom shafts ( with some swapping of cvs Etc.

The fiesta ST's break gearboxes as standard, the diff breaks up and punches through the cases, fitting an RST LSD or a quaife diff solves the problem.
Gear sets are normally ok for 320 bhp, but can be driver dependent.

As above, the MTX goes in an ST pretty easily so all the big power ones run those.

The IB5 breaks eventually. Lots of people change diffs/shafts etc, but it usually just shows up another weak point.
Any of us building/running big power are using an MTX75.

Someone I know running a GT28 converted 2.0 ST (first one in the UK I think) was running iirc 240bhp ish and was on a IB5 + Quaife and the box ain't broke and been gong strong for few years. The engine on the other hand........poor mapping killed it.

He's from Ayrshire though. Doesn't have the car anymore, he has a Mazda 5 MPS.
