Just recently bought this xr3i, It's in a bit of a state just now needing some bodywork. It was fitted with a series 1 bodykit which previous owner has ripped off, which has resulted in him damaging the paintwork on the arches. I plan to get the bodywork all sorted out then refit the series 1 kit. It has supposedly got forged pistons kent cam etc which i'm waiting to get confirmed from guy who built the engine. Also running an rs1600i gearbox.

Good project mate! ive just started working for an offshore company up in dyce and its ace the amount of fords ive seen in the past few weeks! drove past a white escort last night on anderson drive! not sure if it was a turbo or nae!

 

Alright bigryrs aye it's mental the amount of old fords up this way. I think i've bought some stuff of you before. Mk4 turbo bonnet in purple and a few other bits.

 

Agree on that fully I reckon there are quite a few s1 turbos in various guises up this way

Any decent fordies up your way mate? i remember the good old days of scot ads when i used to constantly see orions,mk2 xr2's, rs turbos, saphs etc up your way and aberdeen etc! never see anything like that now lol they are all tucked away awaiting saving

 

There is but like you say all tucked away. Scot ads has died a death, got it the other week and it was empty. Ive got a black mk3 xr3 for sale on gumtree, that seems to be the place just now.

Have you got a thread for the s1? ive always fancied a s1 lol ive had about 8 s2's but no s1! i remember my dad doing floor pans on a s1 and it sat in the garage outside my mum and dads for months! i used to go in the garage when nobody was there and just stare at it lol total saddo

Well got a little work done it today. Cleaned up all the tiger seal and primer of the arches which was a pig of a job. Both front arches ain't great and the bumper brackets are quite rotten so i'm thinking just change the front wings as both sides of car are getting painted anyway.
