I know how you feel, felt like i was changing them monthly on my old gti especially once the 17s were on but tbh most of the time it was the ball joint that failed rather than the bushes so dont know how much fitting spherical will help you, unless your getting bush failure obviously lol

In our old Escort 1.8 the wishbones seemed to fail the MOT and need replaced every year for three years till I swapped the bushes for Powerflex polys. Didn't need replaced again after that until we got rid of the car at 11 years old so it was money well spent.

The powerflex ones were spherical the last time I saw them.

The ball joints were ok it was the bushes that failed. Don't remember much detail but seem to recall I needed a press to get them in.

Its normally the rear wishbone ones that go, seem to think there are a couple of different sizes though

Yeah the ball joints are always fine its just the bush on the back end of the lower arm. I was goin to poly bush the rear beam but i brought a beam from ford fair not realising that a mk5 and mk6 are different bushes
