Default What lift pump?

I'm going to add a swirl pot into the saff as it seems to be getting a bit of fuel starvation now and again, whats the best pump to put underneath to feed the swirl pot? Could i use the existing 044 then use a new 044 int he boot as the feed pump, or could i get away with buying something cheaper to use underneath as the lift pump?

Thanks, Dan.

you could use the existing 044, or you could use a facet red top pump. however the 044 would move more fuel.

I'd look at your 044 first as there more than good enough for the power you have

are you in a rush to do this work?
shameless selling pitch, but you could look at my 413 pump to feed the engine, use the 044 for the lift pump and i'd doubt any issues would arise from there on.

044's nearly new James, just when I hoon is around a few corners it seems to do it a little, i'd rather be safe and have a swirl pot than melt the engine, especially as i want to do a few track days in it.

Thanks for the advice chaps.

Mark says an 044 is good for 600bhp! What tank do you have is it a genuine ford one or a copy? I say this because I got a copy one who people say are the same and had it modded to aero quips and I've noticed mine starve its self of fuel too so I'm going to mod the genuine ford tank now and put it back in! The copy one must have a shit swirl pot in it as its never done it with the genuine tank!

As far as i know it's genuine matey, looks it anyway. It's done this since i stage 3'd it pretty much, used to do it on hard launches if i had a 3rd of a tank of juice or under, i think rod's had that issue, i can't launch it now so don't have that, but i seem to get it on longer corners when i'm really pushing it now, with anything under half a tank in.

Mine seems to be working fine, i have the one 044 and the original tank and stardard line to the front where they are AN6 - i was only thinking the other day about a secondary set up but would need to speak to someone to the route i would go

Sounds like surge Dan you can use the 044 and then another to pump to push if you want to go that way ! Don't forget that the fuel return will go back to the pot too so you will have plenty of fuel there
