i said its not much of a rally car, as in the spec, like the std engine running and std everything else. the shell is the reason i said it would make a good track spec'd car,

Its properly been robbed of its engine and box for something else.Would be an ideal track car.

its perfectly specced for a budding rally driver to move onto rear wheel drive at an affordable price.

standard'ish lightly modified parts means cheap to fix and especially in engine terms means less likely to blow up.

Sure it wont be as competitive as it could be with another £30k spunked on it but how many these days can afford that??

Hence why many national rally competitions have classes for small engined cars and severely limit mods to limit costs.

Called grass roots motorsport.

Theres parts on the car that are crap for the road never mind rally. plastic std dump valve tiny intercooler, part that are no good for a 300bhp road car never mind constant flat out rally car, plus grey injectors surly theres bore wash.

Not everything has to be 909, Grp A the best of the best - if it was used to have fun and just compete then it's enough, remember 300bhp on a gravel track in a rwd is going to be testing enough for most to start with - also the complete interior is out - not sure if the door have just been chopped or fibreglass but it's missing a bit of weight from the typical road cossie.

I think it would be 6k well spent going round the likes of lydden hill. Plently fast ebough around there. It would cost that or more to buy a different saph and put the cage and other bits in so just buy one already done and have no hassle of doing it

if thats the case then there would be no need for green, light blue or any other injector, might as well just run greys on stage 1 , no need to keep buying injectors. cant believe or the tuners have been getting it so wrong for years

Standard plastic dump valves and header tanks were good enough for the 550 plus bhp RS500 touring cars to use, so fine for a nice usable rally car, bling is not always better

Is this a thread to drag someone down you don't like as your from the same area, seems odd you don't know them as being a close community generally most RS owners know others in the same area

it wasn't a thread to slag off the car or put anyone down, i said its not much of a rally car, i didnt say it wasnt capable of rallying, and never said why is it not all 909. i posted because of the shell being of interest.

as for my comment on the std parts, the std 2wd intercooler is crap for 200bhp flat out never mind 300bhp. and plastic dump valves are shit they always leak,

as said its not your average spec for a rally car.
as per usual say something on PF and get shot down.

if all the std parts are so good why do you all change them, im sure the touring car rs500's had parts changed all the time.

and i mentioned the price as if it was cheaper i would have it for a track car.

why can no one make an observation without getting jump on.
i never once said it was shit, or said its not capable of rallying,or that it had to be group a or its shit.

OK

Taking the thread in the right direction then, didn't Grp N keep most of the standard parts?

maybe it started off as group N, they had to have full interior trim.no engine mods apart from ECU so its stands a high chance. the shell is smart as would love it in white.

I thought the intercooler was part of the homologation package.. So therefore would of been the same as the group a cars ran?

My 909 group N rally car only runs std intercooler..... Even tho its running 2 bar boost....
And only doing 300hp... Mine is a high comp high boost engine tho.....

The suspension on mine is 909 group N spec, so my rear shocks and springs are not 1 unit, so the suspension on that saph maybe better than i have...?

I dont run a DV... There for gays,

The only diference interior wise to mine is i have a lifeline fire extinguisher and carbon fuel tank....

Its a rally car from what i can tell.... I think your first impressions have blinded you into expecting a modern wrc car??

lol i didnt mean an atmos dump valve.
maybe i was a bit blinkered, and maybe i should of used different wording in my post.
so you run a 2wd intercooler?
also thought that seems road going versions are so unreliable, a rally spec'd car would have upgraded parts just for reliability. just looks like a std engine with greys.
