Default MK5 Fiesta 1.6 Head??

Was curious as to wether a focus/fiesta 1.6 black top head would bolt straight onto my 1.25 zetec bottom end... looking for a bit more power out of my P.O.S fezza and thinking this will be the way to do it..
cheers for any responses

i heard a 1.6 head on a 1.25 block will lower the compression ratio slowing it down using a 1400 head wont be quite as bad if its skimmed. a 1400 head deffo have larger ports and larger inlet valves than 1.25 an about the same size exhaust i havent measured them yet but look the same by eye. 1400 cams will fit a 1.25 ive also checked this myself i have heard a 1400 has more valve lift than a 1.25 in next few days i will find this out for myself when i measure the 1.25 an 1.4 cams i read on line there was about 1mm more lift using 1400 cams but same duration aint alot but should make some kind of differance. fitting a 1.4 inlet wont achive much eventho its bigger unless you match port the manifold to head as the ports are smaler on the 1.25 this will leave a huge step slowing the airflow down alot

measured the 1.4 and 1.25 cams both look the same to me i didnt have the most accurate of tools but they were close enough to not make any differance in performance

I seriously doubt the holes would even line up, and the combustion chambers will probably be bigger than the pistons and it.... just wouldnt work lol.

pointless in a road car yes cheaper an easier to drop the 1600 in the road car if your racing every little mod helps drop times and usually your restricted to engine cc's so a bigger engine is out the question

the 1600 head will fit all the holes line up etc all the cams fit each other 1.2 up to 1.7 too its just a bit of a waste of time an money on a road car as you could drop in a 1600 get 109bhp standard an spend less than 300 quid doing it a pair of cams an chip would cost twice that an have less power

thay dont look the same thay are the same 100% on the inlet and the 1.4 exhaust is alittle diffrent but nothing that would add power just cost you money in re shiming the exhaust cam in.

best thing to do is pop to the scrap yard pick up a spare 1.25 head and send it off for this work, Ported, 3 way valve angle, skimmed.
Will cost less than £300 and its the best way to get more power without changing valves.
(stay away from that port and polish rubish its just there to rob you, it costs less than £100 to have a head ported where these so call experts port them alittle bit and polish them to make them look nice when it does nothing and thay bill you more than x3 than it should cost, its all about the ports shape and size nothing to do with how clean it is)

to answer your question yes it will fit but the costs on just reshiming the 1.6 head to work with your engine will cost shit loads.

It's still pointless? Better to fettle with the 1.25 head, cheaper too.

correct mirror polished ports achieve nothing but an empty wallet its been proven on the dyno im not really into new cars with ecus more into mk1 escorts i found that the most bhp per £ was to get a cam an more fuel but id say nowadays a chip would give best bhp per £ if you buy a good one from a reputable tuner if im wrong i stand corrected
