Default Info needed on DVLA V888 form...

I want to find out some details on a car my grandad used to own. We are pretty sure the car has been scrapped but I want to check it is 100% the car before I finish my search.

I have the V888 form and going to tick the box to ask for "information about a vehical that was previously registered, or is registered in your name.

My question, the vehical was never registered in my name... it was in my grandads name who is no longer with us.

Do I put my details on the form or shall I take a risk and put my grandads details? and my address?

Thanks

Mark

Bugger, just read and it says they will check the details and want proof of address. I can prove the address but not with his name on the documentation... do I just be honest I tell them my reason for wanting the information? They can confirm we have the same surnames and I can give them loads of details on the whole thing? If they do not supply the info will they still charge me the £5?

Reg is F615 JAA

It is not insured and I spoke with a Calibre registra who said it has not been taxed since 2000... Can anyone find any detail on the plate? All I need to know is if it has Peter Boon as the first owner or second owner (not sure if this was a demo car)

Do they! Bugger, I am 99% confident the car has been scrapped, and if it was in 2000 like was mentioned then I might even know who owned the car around that kind of time. bugger

Cheers Steve,

At least it does not state scrapped next to our reg... but pretty sure it has been, or sitting in a shed somewhere Annoyingly I have found the blue one below our reg plate, always the way.

Do you mind me asking what system that is you found that info from? I put the plate into HPi, askmid, tax etc and came back with could not be found on any, usually they say what it is but not insured etc..

Autopart - MAM Software.... I'm a parts manager so use it for looking up vehicle details for after market car parts. It's linked directly to the DVLA so is always upto date regarding reg transfers etc etc

Last I saw the blue one it had a V6 in it. My friend Paul Sanderson started the Calibre Register, I think it's Club Irmscher now.

This is what I am thinking, was the car either scrapped but not recorded or is it sat somewhere collecting dust? Part of me wishes it came back scrapped so I could put a end to the search (starting to struggle to sleep now!!) but part of me wants to find it, bring it back and give it to the old man.

I am trying to get hold of the DVLA now but phone must be off the hook.

Steve, thanks again
