Default Do you keep Taps, Helicoils or Timeserts to hand?

Now I want to start servicing my Mondeo myself.
I've decided if I download the schedule off etis I can make notes on it, sight & date it and staple all the reciepts for the parts to it. That way I feel less guilty by not keeping the service history upto date!

Thing is in the past I've had a sump bolt have to be drilled out and a caliper bolt that stripped a thread.
Thing is if I had the right taps and repair kits to hand I wouldn't have had half the hassle I did.

I'm wondering if I should keep some Taps and Helicoils/Timeserts to hand in the garage just incase.

Do any of you do it?

start off with a good set of drill bits and a big tap and die set. that way you can always drill out and re-tap or go up to the next size. not expensive and will always make their money back in a year or so in saved fuel getting them when you need one by one.

a bit pointless buying it if its only for a reasonably new car, a car which realistically will be serviced once, maybe twice a year.

its a different case if you are working on older cars every weekend, where seized nuts and bolts are a common occurrence.
