Default The BMW after 3 months...

10 mins after I made this video the start/stop decided to work at some traffic lights. I took my foot off the brake and it didnt start back up again
I had to get out, lock the car, open it up and then try start it back up.
Shame because it's a fantasic car to drive!

Not good at all!

This makes me think twice about chopping in my E46 for an E92 335 next year if these are common problems! One of the things I love about my E46 is how solid it feels.

My mate has a 61 plate 520d and its been no bother, he's had it since new. Get BMW to sort your problem under warranty.

Its the button above the engine start/stop button.

I have a 2012 F30 320 ED. I have had probs with the central display blacking out now and again, which isnt good but will be mentioned when it goes in for its first service.

Overall very happy with it. Nippy enough in Sport mode and 770 miles to a tank.

Not my new car, it's my fathers lease car. I have my MK4 Mondie.
I drive it on a regular basis and was thinking of buying it in 4 years time but don't think I'm going to bother now!

The start/stop button is totally unresponsive now too. It used to put a light on above the A button to say it was all switched off but it now does nothing.

^^^^ it's looking like its just the button then?
Take a look on eBay etc and you'll find that there's a lot of those mondeo dervs with much bigger problems than that, every car has its issues but it's down to how the dealers sort it.
And ford used to be very bad for that.
Shame also on the mondeo front as they really are a fantastic machine.

Bm.s are the best so there...lol

I heard of a story a few years ago from a lad i used to work with. His mrs used to be a receptionist for bmw and she said there was loads of bmws that came in with ticking noises from the engine and they replaced the engines under warrenty and didnt tell the customers??? I dont how true it is.

A good mate of mine(he mots my cars) had a 1 series bmw in with xenon headlights came into his work. One of the bulbs blown. It cost 75quid for a bulb which he fitted and it still didnt work.He phoned bm and they told him he had to replace an ecu in the headlight which cost a few hundred quid.A dear job just for a bulb lol.

I like bms and they have made some good cars..

No I think it's a software issue.
The start/stop system has stopped working altogether. If it was simply the button the light would be on above the button to say the system has been switched off.

The wipers, the loose door handles and the loose trim around the gear selector isn't down to the button either
