i have a 55 escort non turbo diesel van but am wanting td power plant would the focus tddi engine go straight in mines 1995 any info / advice would be appreciated

 

focus can be done but it's a lot more than just getting an old scrap escort td and swapping all that over, probably cheaper as well, and more reliable as the focus has fuel pump issues that are expensive to put right when they fail

mk1 mondeo td is usually the choice mate

 

would the mk1 mondeo td engine pretty much bolt in and run or do you have to change wiring loom /ecu etc

 

yeah the loom/ecu is differant so will need swapped but its not that hard, especialy if you get an escort td as a donor then everyting just plugs in at fuse box etc,
as for mounts and hoses etc then they are all just straight swap over parts

 

does any body know what is involved in the tddi engine conversion into escort van as im looking to do it,just required a focus tddi as a donor
