oil in cat, maybe from the KY jelly used, has the cat maybe drunk some oil in the garage?

oil in exhaust is probably worn turn seal or rings, or possible breahing very heavy,

Give a better and more specific timeline of what happened, work done and why it was done. It will help anyone trying to help.

But without such information, the quickest answer is, if there is oil getting from the engine into the cat, then the engine is f**ked.

More information required though.

If oil is getting from the engine into the cat, then the cat is fucked.

Cats should only drink water, or milk. But never oil

If oil is in the cat, it means it's been in the cylinders, so something is fooked.
