Default Moondust Fiesta Track car build

After some time away from Fords ive taken the plunge and bought myself a rolling shell, my 2nd Moondust Mk5. It was bought from a long standing member off a Fiesta forum

The shell itself is in great condition, very minimal rust on the bodywork. A bonus also is that it has a Rose jointed rear beam. The plan is to build it up over the coming months (No real time limit tbh), and turn it into a track car. But also in mind to drive to shows/meets etc.

As it stands (Most of the items i have but arnt actually on the car as such)

Interior
Lightend dash
Sparco buckets
4 point harnesses
OMP Corsica wheel (Very flexible)
OMP 10 point cage

Exterior
Standard

Suspension/tires
Compomotive TH's
Toyo R888's
Gaz coilovers
FRP Alcon brakes
Ford Focus ST170 disc's
Area six rose jointed lower arms
Rose jointed rear beam

Engine
2.0 Zetec Blacktop with an ST170 Head
Newman cams
gsxr ITB's with Manifold to suit
Custom exhaust manifold

Once the car was parked up i went over it with a sponge and brush just to get rid of the grime and moss that had built up of the previous year or so. Looks alot better than i thought it ever would

I then picked up another shell. It is fairly tidy but not as good as the Silver shell i have.

I bought it because it has a few parts that i wanted the parts off it.

Alcon FRP 4 pot brakes
FRS rear disc conversion
OMP 10 point cage
Area six rose jointed lower arms
Gaz coilovers

The car was then gutted and ended up as a big lump of scrap

How the car now looks after 2 hours. Who needs axle stands when you have wheels and bricks

Then in order to get the cage out with minimal hassle the roof was cut off the blue Fiesta

I then decided to change the 330mm FRS front discs for 300mm ST170's, this still meant that i needed a bigger set of wheels. I ended up buying these Compomotive TH's (Already came in green) and they also came with Toyo R888's (Only done one a morning's trackday)

I bought a few bits and bobs a couple of weeks ago and today was the first day that i have been to the car to have a look. ST170 Head (VCT removed and was fully rebuilt not long before it was taken off), Newman Cams (Fairly aggressive), Custom exhaust manifold, gsxr bike bodies with inlet manifold to suit and linkages.

Ok, so finally got a little closer today. Found a 2.0 Blacktop from a Focus and a gearbox from a diesel Focus. Had a little mock fit up of the bottom end, ST170 head and gearbox. The gearbox mount didn't quite line up so i think i Zetec s one would fit.

2.0 Blacktop

Focus diesel gearbox

Removing the head

Cams removed

Block and gearbox mock fitted

ST170 head

Fitted to the block

Removed Aircon pump
