My questions are.... would this mean cheaper or free road tax in the uk and could it be used to aid performance in some way remembering the the weight of the batteries etc that you would need?

In theory if you can get enough power to it an electric motor could be immensely powerful. I'd consider it if it was cheap enough for free tax. Mind you it doesn't need to be an efficient hybrid to qualify, like that Lexus with something like a mile range...
I'd do it on a daily, but think it's pointless on a performance car.
The cost is too much now anyway, but then if it reduces road tax aswell as significantly improving mpg, then I'm all for it.

THIS IS THE STUFF that makes the USA the greatest country ever. I love this country
The inventor will disapear like the original inventor of Corn fuel.... only when the powers that be feel it is time to introduce it to the general public, will we see it available.
I would rather they be made in Mexico. That way I wouldn't be paying the additional cost due to U.S. unionized workers sitting in lawn chairs and making $30 an hour.
