S reg Ford Focus, interior heater switch not working
Hi guys,
I've recently had a problem develop, hence this post, whilst out in the car I switched the interior heat on in the car, and switched off when the desired heat was reached, it was on setting 4 as it was a cold evening.
When I came to switch the heater dial off, I noticed as I turned it, it seemed to become stiff at setting 2, as I then turned it completely off there was a bit of resistance. But It went off. I later turned the dial back on but nothing happened. No air flow and no heat.
Does anyone know what the problem is likely to be, or has had the exact same problem, I don't want to start replacing parts that don't need replacing and just throwing money at the problem. I've checked the fuse and can't see anything wrong with that. Any fuse that even remotely looks like the heater controls is complete.

Yeh I was thinking that it was that due to the resistance when I switched it off, I'll have a look for one on eBay or pop to the scrap yard on Monday. Defrosting a car in the morning without heat and near impossible as I found this morning,
Just been having a look at the heater control in the car, checked the connections in the back of the switch and when I moved one of the wires and re-seated it correctly in the back on the heat speed control the heater came back on. But only worked at speed 1, when I attempted to use 2,3, or 4 it went off, is it the resister thats knackered or still likely to be the switch itself.

Thank you, been to see an auto electrician this morning and he seems to think its the switch too, as he told me about a problem you would usually experience that you would need to put slight pressure on the switch for it to work and before mine packed up completely I had the problem he described. I'll look into getting a replacement part
