Default 225 with de-cat fitted?

Im thinking of fitting a decat to my Mountune 260 st, is there any way of stopping the EML light coming on when using a de-cat?

Can't say first hand mate but this was the route I was goin to go when I had mine, heard it does work.

Or buy a cheap fault code reader and clear the codes each time it comes on. Gets annoying though.

I've been told to steer clear of the extension things cos they move the sensor further out and the sensor then doesn't read right, meaning it could go lean etc. Meant to sound awesome though lol

something i read on another forum a few weeks and it made me wonder.. When you have decat fitted the extra heat in the exhaust system means you destroy silencers quicker ?

Any thoughts?

It's not going to be reading right with no cat anyway, but moving the sensor will put its readings closer to what they should be as they eml light ain't on.
That's my thinking of it which of course can easily be wrong.

The bit about the maps is rubbish, most off the shelf maps such as Dreamscience etc will turn the light out providing you have a sensor fitted. If your not planning on mapping the car with the decay then a sensor spacer is a perfectly acceptable way of doing things.

Off the shelf maps don't turn the light off.

I've got a sports cat on mine at the mo and am thinking about doing it the pikey way by smashing the internals out of the standard cat and putting that back on for a bit just to see what it's like!

You can turn the light off but it will come back on again. Unless you have that off the shelf map tweaked to perminantly keep the eml off for the cat fault code.

I had to keep plugging my DS in and turn it off but it would come back on again. Varied as to when it came back on. Sometimes a few hundred mile some times 1000 mile.

Sell the standard cat and buy a decat. Seen standard cats at Ł150 + on fleabay used. Ł70 for a decat. Win win.

I've just had a look, seen on completed listings though that they don't seem to sell at that price. I might just start it at 70, if it sells i'll buy a decat pipe, if not then it gets it

I didn't look that far into it. Only looked as mrs tripped up over it in the spare room, had a look and thought that would get me fair few bottles of vodka then left it in te spare room ready for the mrs to trip up over it again.
